  Re: MLCAD rotation (future request)

(...) Cool idea. (...) Is there an advantage to stuffing them in a separate subfile, other than neatness? That approach *requires* the use of MPD for storage. If they could scoped to be 'located' in specific subfiles (or the main file), that would (...) (24 years ago, 16-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  Re: Suggestion?

I turned off shading and turned on BFC, it seemed to improve speed a little. The settings you mentioned below were already set. I still have the problem with drag/dropping 'plopping' new parts into the window. Why don't they take on ALL the position (...) (24 years ago, 15-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  Re: MLCAD rotation (future request)

(...) An idea, straight out of left field: named rotation centers. Why restrict yourself to just one? It should be possible to have *several* user-defined rotation centers, and when the user wants to rotate a subpart, MLCad could use the *current* (...) (...) Could you start using sub-models. I've found it is a lot easier to break down models into sub-models. I can then work in an uncluttered view of just the area I'm working on. I've been doing mostly mechs, so it is real easy to break things (...) (24 years ago, 15-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  Re: MLCAD rotation (future request)

Ok, I will think on this too. Just a summary: There are four options for a single part rotation: 1 - Rotate via origin of the part 2 - Rotate via center of part 3 - rotate via world origin(0/0/0) and 4 - rotate over a user set rotation point. For (...) (24 years ago, 15-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  Re: Suggestion?

The sounds like a good idea. However you should check your settings, and see if the Position for new part is not centered, and the draw to selection only option is disabled .... this slows down very much. Thanks, Michael Adam Howard (...) (24 years ago, 15-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  Suggestion?

Hi Mike! I've been working on a large model and have run into the slowwwiiiinnnnggg-dowwn wall. Whenever I add a new piece or rotate a selected one it seems to take forever. I'm not sure, but I believe it is because MLCAD re-renders the whole model (...) (24 years ago, 15-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  Golden Astronaut helmets? and Breastplates?

Hi, I'm using MLCad to model an "Original Model" (6457 from 1999, sorry no scan on brickshelf) for the inventory and model repository; but with a few pieces, I'm pretty much stumped: 1) MLCad doesn't seem to have a color for those "golden" helmets.   Re: tubing

(...) I don't think that users would normally want to scale parts. The part you were presented with just now is probably the exception: No other parts in the LDraw library should be scaled to other sizes than the ones they come in. But then again, (...)   MLCAD rotation (future request)

yes, just open one part of you model (most likely the center.) then rightclick on the modeling area, go to add, then part. then click custom part and load your other dat file. thats it! (24 years ago, 5-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad, lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.ray)
