Re: LDraw.org's September Model and Scene of the Month Winners

(...) Congratulate with the scene Ben, it's really nice and the cows look very cute, but I think you should work a little more with the background, hiding the big concrete field in the background by adding another layer of houses, trees or landscape (...)   Re: A small correction to 2004-03 distros

Gaah! Preview only works, if you work it! ;) (...) There should be a "not" in that line, "would not make". Steve (20 years ago, 15-Oct-04, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

A small correction to 2004-03 distros

I noticed yesterday that the ldconfig.ldr file included in the current complete.exe/complete.zip distribution files was incorrect, and did not match the file in the lcad0403.exe/lcad0403.zip files. I updated the complete.* files with the newer (...) (20 years ago, 15-Oct-04, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  LDraw.org Downtime

Per the following post: (URL) will be down 10/5 at 2pm EDT for about 15 min. Since Peeron also hosts LDraw.org, LDraw.org will be down as well. -Orion (20 years ago, 4-Oct-04, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: New style of part file 3941 vs. 6143

(...) I've added pictures of some of these variants to my comparison galleries: (URL) the two previous pictures. One addition to Chris' excellent descriptions is that the older bottoms (2A) can be used in a SNOT function with plates; the newer (...) (20 years ago, 28-Sep-04, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: Bow-tie quads in BFC-certified parts

(...) I've seen them in one official part, and one part on the tracker. But since I haven't really been looking for them, I'm guessing they exists in other parts. The main culprit appears to be pre-existing parts that were later BFC-certified. (Both (...) (20 years ago, 10-Sep-04, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: Bow-tie quads in BFC-certified parts

(...) How often do you find bow-tied parts in BFC CERTIFY'd parts? I meant that's a real error that shouldn't be allowed by the parts tracker isn't it? Is there a rule that can be added to the checks done on the files that are submitted that will (...) (20 years ago, 10-Sep-04, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: Bow-tie quads in BFC-certified parts

(...) It's funny how quickly I can forget the details of a complex task. For instance, I totally forgot about the NOCLIP BFC command (which can disable clipping for specific sub-sections of a file). Mind you, I implemented it, and believe that it (...) (20 years ago, 10-Sep-04, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, FTX)

  Bow-tie quads in BFC-certified parts

(Note that I'm sending followups to the lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw newsgroup alone, because that seems to be the appropriate group, but I think the audience of the lugnet.cad.dat.parts group should see this.) In the process of testing my next major (...) (20 years ago, 10-Sep-04, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

Re: STEP into using LDAO or LDDP

(...) OK, I looked it up. You want to make sure both of the following menu options are checked: Process->External Programs->Polling->Poll to L3Lab and LDView Process->External Programs->Polling->Poll to selected line only Then when you launch either (...)   Re: STEP into using LDAO or LDDP

(...) I'll check that out immediately. At the moment, I'm trying to figure out how to make the Polling option in LDDP to work as a stepper. I'm rendering existing parts by blocks of code to see how you folks created them. The STEP function will (...) (20 years ago, 12-Aug-04, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: STEP into using LDAO or LDDP

(...) The LDAO Editor has a setting to draw up to the current line only. It's on Options -> Stop-at-Cursor. Steve (20 years ago, 12-Aug-04, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: STEP into using LDAO or LDDP

(...) I had a really hard time finding that option also. And yet even so I'm not convinced it's in a bad place, since once I found it it made sense. I'm pretty sure it's in the polling menu. --Travis Cobbs (20 years ago, 11-Aug-04, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: STEP into using LDAO or LDDP

(...) Thanks. That's just what I'm looking for. But please pardon my ignorance. I have the basic LDDP without much plug-ins. I searched every option in the standard issue, but couldn't find the _draw to selected line mode_ option. Is that option (...) (20 years ago, 11-Aug-04, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: STEP into using LDAO or LDDP

(...) You can try LDDP draw to selected line mode. This will output the model from the beginning to the selected line. -Orion (20 years ago, 11-Aug-04, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

STEP into using LDAO or LDDP

Other than commenting and uncommenting blocks of code, how can one step through the lines one by one? I'm trying to teach myself how to author by following examples. I'd like to be able to step through the lines of code and see what is being (...) (20 years ago, 11-Aug-04, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)
