Re: How to get L3P coordinates

(...) Now that you say it, I seem to remember that playing with preferences sets might have been the last thing I tried to do before the first crash - thought it'd be an interesting feature to test out. And indeed now that it works again I've been (...) (19 years ago, 24-Jun-07, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

Re: How to get L3P coordinates

(...) I'm not 100% sure, but it appears that preference sets are setting off the crash. I'm not sure why yet, but QT on the Mac just completely wigs out when you launch LDView after creating and switching to a new preference set. So I'd say, don't (...)   Re: How to get L3P coordinates

(...) ... (...) ... (...) My guess is that file came from your QT 4 compile of LDView. That sounds like a serious step backwards from the QT 3 behavior, though. Even if they did change the API to require usage of the com.yada.yada.yada format, not (...) (19 years ago, 23-Jun-07, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

Re: How to get L3P coordinates

(...) Great! I suspect I found the funnily named file because I was running an earlier version of LDView on this machine. I'm glad you're back in business. (...) No problem. Be well, Jim (19 years ago, 23-Jun-07, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

Re: How to get L3P coordinates

(...) I don't have that file; but Travis pointed me to another preferences file I had missed in /Library/Preferences which was named com.LDView.plist. I guess I missed it because of the com. prefix which the file in my own preferences directory (...) (19 years ago, 23-Jun-07, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

Re: How to get L3P coordinates

(...) No, I don't need the report. It doesn't sound like something I can diagnose - I just asked on the chance that there was a specific setting or command you had tried that I could duplicate to help identify the problem, if I had not encountered (...)   Re: How to get L3P coordinates

(...) Guess I'll just have to do that on a PC sometimes then... (...) Sure. I'd already sent a mail to Travis and he's looking into it; but if you get an idea, I suppose he wouldn't frown at your intervention either. Unfortunately there isn't much (...)   Re: How to get L3P coordinates

(...) I'd try and get LDview working because it should be able to do this. But if for some reason you can't get it to work, you could try ldglite as a last resort. (URL) I think you have to launch it from the command line, so only go there if you're (...) (19 years ago, 21-Jun-07, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

Re: How to get L3P coordinates

(...) Yep, LDView can do this for you. After you open a model and position the view as you would like, select "Show POV-Ray Camera Info" from the "Tools" menu. A dialog containing coordinates you can copy will appear. Can you describe more about how (...) (19 years ago, 21-Jun-07, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

  How to get L3P coordinates

Hi, I'm trying to use LDraw a bit more and I've got to the point where I don't mind sending submissions to the MOTM contest (Willy sounds like he wants some). However, the rules allow for additional camera locations, in L3P coordinates format. Now, (...) (19 years ago, 21-Jun-07, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

  Macbook LDView crash, please re-contact

Right after I hit the "delete all spam" button, I noticed that one of the "Spam" messages was about a Macbook LDView crash. Could whoever sent that message please re-send it to the following address? tcobbs@REMOVE.halibut.com (Remove the REMOVE, of (...) (19 years ago, 19-Jun-07, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

Re: Macintosh LDraw Software Inventory on Wiki

(...) I'm glad you like it! Incidentally, I recommend Bricksmith and LDView as the main things for new users to check out (although I assume you already know about them). Over time I hope to add some more things to the list. Jim (19 years ago, 15-Jun-07, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac, lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: Macintosh LDraw Software Inventory on Wiki

(...) This is really cool, Jim. Thanks for the effort! As a new Mac user, I'm hoping to carve some time to seriously (?) play with the Mac LDraw tools before BrickWorld next weekend. Any Mac LDraw users coming to BrickWorld? If so, shoot me an email (...) (19 years ago, 15-Jun-07, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac, lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Macintosh LDraw Software Inventory on Wiki

Hello, everyone. I've created an article on the new LDraw Wiki titled "Macintosh compatible LDraw software." As the name suggests, it is intended to index all the LDraw and LEGO related software available to Mac users. I hope it will be particularly (...)   Re: New OpenGL based Lego Editor

(...) I second this request. I'm working on LPub 4 and it will have internationalization capabilities. We're using Qt under Visual Studio as the basis for this development for three reasons: 1.   Re: New OpenGL based Lego Editor

If you are going to write a new editor I suggest to support right from the start the possibility to translate the interface in other languages without the need to (...)   Re: New OpenGL based Lego Editor

(...) Bricksmith and LDView both use OpenGL, as far as I can tell. Of course, Bricksmith is only available on the Mac and LDView is a viewer, not an editor, but they are both excellent applications (I use them regularly). They are being actively (...)
