  Re: Mac Brick CAD (MBC)

Brain, (...) It depends on how adventureous you are - actually this software is pretty benign, so Alpha means I still have loose ends to tie up but most of the core stuff is in place. (...) Parts not showing up! James has already answered this, but (...) (23 years ago, 23-May-03, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

  Re: Mac Brick CAD (MBC)

(...) MBC doesn't know where your LDRAW directory is, so you are only seeing the parts that are internal to MBC. Get the LDRAW directory like James said, then throw away all of your preference files that have anything to do with LDRAWing (...) (23 years ago, 23-May-03, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

  Re: Mac Brick CAD (MBC)

(...) OK, questions from a *rank* novice at this stuff - ie, somebody who shouldn't even remotely be involved in an alpha release, but... Why do many of the parts of the models not show up (for instance, I have many bushings hanging in mid-space (...) (23 years ago, 22-May-03, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

I can't send James Reynolds mail

James, I got two messages from you, so I replied that your messages got through. Both messages bounced back. Here is a compy of one of the messages that bounced back.   Bendible parts Web Page

I was think of creating a webpage with a script based on my LDDP plugin to create the code for flexible objects. This would allow those who, for whatever reason, cannot use LDDP to create bendible objects. Is there any interest in this? -Orion (23 years ago, 11-May-03, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

  Re: Mac Brick CAD (MBC)

(...) You have a Mac with 8 MB of VRAM and you are running at 1024x768 or higher, yes? To get the the rotation to work correctly, switch to 800x600 launch MBC (set that to music and Andrew might get a different set of lawyers knocking on his door:) (...)   Re: Mac Brick CAD (MBC)

(...) Fantastic! I look forward to giving you my thoughts on this as I begin using it. Expect commentary in the coming weeks as I find time to work with something that's been a LONG time in coming. Thanks! -Dave (23 years ago, 2-May-03, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

  Re: Mac Brick CAD (MBC)

(...) Cool! (...) This didn't work correctly for me. The rotation axis didn't display when I held down the option key, and drag the mouse and the part doesn't update as it rotates. When I redraw the model (by moving it somehow), the part all of a (...) (23 years ago, 2-May-03, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

(...) Andrew, Thanks, I am downloading it as I type. It is almost time for finals here at Westfield State College, so I woon't be able to play much. However, when grades are done I'll get out my poking stick. Thanks, Chris (23 years ago, 2-May-03, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

  Mac Brick CAD (MBC)

Announcing Mac Brick CAD (MBC) - formally known as Ldraw Viewer. I guess the program has matured enough to reach Alpha status and a new name as well.   Re: Java 3D app ready for Mac LDraw?

(...) Expect progress to be slow. I'm over-committed without this. But, I'd really like to see it happen. And, I don't think the programming is going to be very ugly. (...) I expect that extending the AoI interface will be simpler. A rendering (...) (23 years ago, 9-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

Re: Java 3D app ready for Mac LDraw?

(...) Cool, glad someone paid attention :-) Please keep us up to date on your progress. My lack of programming skills will show through here -- but is it theoretically possible to build a LEGO CAD friendly interface over AoI's rendering engine? I've (...)   Re: Java 3D app ready for Mac LDraw?

(...) Someone mentioned AoI a while back. At the additional prompting, I downloaded the app (and the source and docs) and started researching what would be needed. Simple reading and writing of ldr files seems pretty straightforward. I have been in (...) (23 years ago, 9-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

  Ldraw Viewer 0.5

Once again it seem I have too much spare time, since I have elevated Ldraw Viewer to development version 0.5. The big change is that you can now rotate parts using the mouse (rather than by dialog box). I have also eliminated a number of bugs (...) (23 years ago, 4-Mar-03, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)
