Re: Foundations (Was: [ldraw.org] Eve of Beginnings)

(...) I didn't intend it that way. I was just pointing out that "Foundation" doesn't have to mean a charitable organization. (...) I _definately_ didn't want to imply that. :) (26 years ago, 15-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: newsgroup name for ldraw.org

(...) At one time in fact there was a clubs.* hierarchy -- I'd mistaken what someone at PNLTC had said; I thought they said they wanted a focused PNLTC discussion group, but they didn't, so we deleted the group (and the hierarchy).   Re: suggestion for roadplate like parts

If you have all these parts, and you want LDraw part-files for them, I'd be willing to work on making the files. Scan at 64dpi (that's 'life size' for LDraw), and e-mail them to me. Steve (...) (26 years ago, 16-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: [ldraw.org] Shockwave Flash

Tim, Please, please, please, please, please, please, please do *NOT* rely on Shockwave plugins to access content on the new site. IMO, this is far worse than image maps, because, in essence, it is forcing people to stick to one piece of buggy (...) (26 years ago, 12-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: newsgroup name for ldraw.org

(...) What would be problematic, though, is alphabetization issues in newsreaders. Some newsreaders, like trn and Microplanet Gravity, allow you to reorder your newsgroup subscriptions to group things better the way you want to read them. But the (...)   Re: newsgroup name for ldraw.org

(...) Yes, okay. A point you made in an earlier post is that lugnet.org and lugnet.com are potentially confusing to the starting user. Perhaps if you used .club. instead of .org. ? It breaks the domain-mapping paradigm, but it's a little more (...) (26 years ago, 14-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.admin.general)

Hmm...that has the advantage of being able to rapidly find and scan through all of the associated *.org sites, and a nice clean organization, but it has the disadvantage of the groups being separated from their most logical positions in the ng (...)
