After discussing the ldraw.org Official Model Repository header and file naming system, I feel that we can come to a final resolution.  A lot has been discussed on the topic, including various file naming systems and also locations within the models (...) I really was in doubt whether or not to add the logo, but after looking at many renderings I found it to increase realism very much (as do textures in general, compared to "flat" faces). I am truly sorry that we are going through this problem. But LDraw is a dual purpose program. The original purpose, and one that is still valid, useful, and needed, is that of a parts reference. A parts reference that depends on using TLG part (...) (26 years ago, 26-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

(...) basically the rule of thumb i try to stick with, is the basis for our point of origin primitive... the stud.. the standard LDraw stud uses a 16-segment cylinder... so whenever possible i try to use 16-sided cylinders anytime i'm dealing with a (...)
