L3P uses this state-machine:
Initial state is HEADER.
____Type of input line_____
Oldstate Bad line 0 FILE valid
HEADER HEADER MPD DAT
MPD E+MPD MPD MPD
DAT E+DAT W+MPD DAT
E: Skipping bad line
W: LDraw commands preceded this 0 FILE
This pragmatic approach has one minor drawback: it fails to report
error in a line (e.g. bad number of arguments in a linetype 4) if
the line has not been preceded by a valid line (so that FileType has
been set to DAT).
