Good idea.  I don't think this would work as 'just another sort' of the
parts list page <http://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptlist.cgi>.  I'd rather
have a "most in need of attention" page, with the following parameters:

1. Exclude all certified files.
2. Sort the files by date of last action, with the oldest listed first.

Things I'm not sure about:

Should Held files be included or not?  Once a file is Held, it needs
attention from its author, not from reviewers.  More importantly, I'm
guessing Held files would tend to show up at the top of the list, making
it hard for people to come in and pick off a file they can work on (ie,
review).

Should file dependencies be accounted for in the sort?  That is, should
a subfile appear higher in the list than its parent part?

and maybe a fast-track certification for fixes - maybe just one
certification.

This has been discussed before, but it seems like fixes tend to go
through the Tracker fairly fast anyway.  I'm guessing people can figure
out how to efficiently review changed parts.

If a part is already approved, however flawed, then any
improvement is good and should feed through quickly.

I (generally) agree.  Also, if someone finds a flaw in a fixed part,
they should feel free to fix the flaw and resubmit the file.
Frequently, the 'author' of a fix is not the file's original author, and
doesn't feel much ownership of the part in question.

That's not to say people should go wild, and make changes to updated
files willy-nilly.

I agree with Steve that the new system is generating a greater throughput with
less manual intervention, and higher quality. I hope that the relative ease of
update management means it is less of a burden for Steve as the admin, so more
likely to continue on a regular basis.

Ah, the burden of command.  How heavily it weighs on one's shoulders.
Especially when those pesky reviewers push in my 'admin inbox' past 100
files. ;)

(...) Actually, since the previous time that this was raised, I have refrained from self-certifying, and at that time cancelled all my existing self-certifications. But on several of these files, that is still the last action! I'd like to see an (...) (22 years ago, 12-Jun-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)
