In some cases, like attached to rounded surfaces, I think the only way is to
solve the problem is to create a part-with-sticker file.

A sticker could be attached in many more or less creative ways, and I think the
modeller should have the freedom to option to stick it anywhere else than TLG's
original intentions. Therefore, all stickers should be separate parts.

To match a sticker with the originally intended tile or brick and align it
correctly can be a time-consuming work. Therefore I suggest shortcuts for parts
with stickers defaultly* attached.

One of the problems with stickers is that they are too thin to be decently
rendered in some LDraw viewers. I don't know the exact details of the
discussions on this subject.
Since L3P/POV will make it with the exaxt thickness and not other methods of
LDraw, could it be an optimized solution to have one thickness IFPOV and ELSE
too thick in order to prevent leakage.

I know that stickers cause more problems won't solved by this method, like
stickers wrappaed around rounded surfaces, but I think it may be an opening for
many stickered parts to be officialized, at last.

*Defaultly - is that a correct way to modify the word? :o)

On stickers:

Should stickers be treated, for part authoring purposes, as if they were
printed on the parts?  If so, should we indicate somehow that the part is
stickered as opposed to printed?

And on certification (on LDraw.org's parts tracker):

I've noticed that some parts are reviewed and certified by the author.  Is
this okay, or should we only certify parts done by others?

Also, should we only certify parts that we actually possess?  Or is a
technical review and a once-over on the appearance okay?

Lastly... I'm not terribly proficient with checking files.  I primarily use
Notepad, with MLCAD as a viewer, when authoring parts.  My question is
whether I should be certifying parts or not.  I kinda feel like I'm not
qualified, but when I look at the list of parts I want to help- there are a
lot of files there and I'd love to help speed them into the hands of LDraw
users.  I guess I'm asking whether I should not review parts at all, whether
I should just go for it, or whether I should use my judgement to determine
what parts are too complex for me to fairly judge.

(By the way- in the future, should I ask parts tracker usage questions on
the org.ldraw group?)

Thanks,
