  Ldlite suggestions

After doing a lot of virtual building over the past few days I noticed that sometimes in Ldlite a part of the model would be cut off down in the blh corner even though there was plenty of room in the urh corner area. For the next version would it be (...) (26 years ago, 14-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: MPD format

That is all there is to it. "0 FILE name.dat" starts a subfile. The subfile ends when end-of-file or another "0 FILE name.dat" line is reached. By convention, tools like L3P and LDLite, when given an mpd file, will render the first subfile. The (...) (26 years ago, 14-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Technic (Throwbot) Leg with Ball Joints

I've avoided using Throwbot/Slizer in the name, using just "Technic Leg with Ball Joints 3 x 7 x 1" The piece is stamped with "32173" -gyug ps. "Slizer" is better sounding than "Throwbot". (...) (26 years ago, 14-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Part Numbering Crisis in LDraw

(...) agreed again... my point being that TLG *may* use different element numbers to differentiate between certain parts in different colors (perhaps not 1x2 bricks) but that our concern should only be separate part numbers when the physical makeup (...)   Re: Part Numbering Crisis in LDraw

(...) ^^^...^^^ Agreed, except that in the case of the 1x2 brick -- there are two molds still in use today: one with a post down the center and one without. The one without the post is of course the one used for little windows -- like in (...) (26 years ago, 14-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  MPD format

who is governing the specs on the MPD format??? i'm thinking of writing a quick little MPD merger/splitter VB app... (seems whacky that we don't have one already)... and i just need to know the spec on what MPD's entail... all i can really see is (...) (26 years ago, 14-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: L3PAO Suggestion

(...) mookie suggested this recently... and, as i explained to her, the thing to keep in mind is that L3PAO doesn't govern these things... she passed her suggestion on to Lars, who would be the one to implement this feature into L3P itself... all (...) (26 years ago, 14-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Problems with LDAO, L3PAO

I'm having a minor problem with LDAO... I can't get it to make a VEC catalog with new pieces. It says "Creating Visual Catalog Images" in a dialog box, then disappears, not having done anything. I'm running version 1.4.5 Also, I can't seem to get (...) (26 years ago, 14-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  L3PAO Suggestion

I have a suggestion for something that ought to be added to L3PAO. Since it is possible to choose a background color, you ought to be able to choose an .inc file as a background(stars, grass, etc.). Would this be possible?? Ryan (26 years ago, 14-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Technic Cam 6575

Is anybody working on this part? I need it desperately for a model. If someone *is* working on it, could you email a copy (even if it i a work in progress), so that i can leave an appropriate space for it in my model? --Karim (26 years ago, 14-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Technic (Throwbot) Leg with Ball Joints

(...) I would disagree. I would call them Technic, as they are obviously technic compatible. I am also pleased to hear the someone is working on them :) I have a really cool Pallas Spaceworks model built out of those pieces :) --Karim (26 years ago, 14-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Technic (Throwbot) Leg with Ball Joints

(...) I'm really happy to see that! Anyway, I just wanted to comment on the name of the parts: I understand that the theme called "Throwbot" in the US is called "Slizer" in Australia. Hence, perhaps we should use the "Slizer" name in LDraw, rather (...) (26 years ago, 14-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Technic (Throwbot) Leg with Ball Joints

I'm starting to work on the Throwbot/Slizer parts. If anyone wants to help, I can send DXF meshes of the parts as I start working on them. My goal is to get some medium-quality parts going first, then go back and add all the tiny details. -gyug (...) (26 years ago, 14-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: what is wrong with my parts?

i don't know how else to put this, so i'll be blunt... in a word: Quality. it is apparent to me that you are trying for quantity in the amount of elements you have been churning out and throwing to the community... that isn't what we're after.. (...) (26 years ago, 13-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Feature requests for LDraw/LEdit v. 2  [DAT]

(...) Yes, that would be useful. It's also absurd that an application would need to worry about that, since Linux can do that at the OS level. But, I havn't ported to Linux yet, so I don't have much room to complain. (...) A meta command to change (...) (26 years ago, 13-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: what is wrong with my parts?

Jonathan, Don't get discouraged, get better! You have the basic skill for creating parts, and as you continue to accept constructive criticism you will master the more difficult skills. My first patterned parts were rejected, too, for the same (...) (26 years ago, 13-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: real hard part

There are many very hard-to-render parts. I'd love to make those trees and bushes from the sixties... (Not the single-coloured Samsonite version, but the two- or threecolored European). But I guess that's just a dream. I get less and less spare time (...) (26 years ago, 13-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  real hard part

i have discovered what i believe to be the hardest part to render in ldraw. it is the raised baselpate from 3117 scala fun at the pool. it iwould be very hard because it has such difficult curves. (26 years ago, 13-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)
