3873.DAT - Why not name this part: Technic Link 1x2.5?

Fredrik Glöckner answered:

The length of a link isn't 1 unit, it is 26 LDU, while the length between
two connected links is 16 LDU.  And the width isn't 2.5 units, it is 52
LDU, which matches the interior of a 1x3 plate. • ....
On the other hand, if there will be a new tread link, it will be nice to
have a better and more specific name for the old one.  And 1x2.5 is
probably close enough.

I believe that the numbers should reflect the dimensions of the plate.
That is 12 LDU x 52 LDU so make it 0.6 x  2.6 instead of 1 x  2.5

(...) I agree with you if you add the word "Tread" in front of the dimensions. That way, it is more clear that the dimensions refer to the tread plate and not the overall size of the link. So how about this: "Technic Link Tread 0.6 x 2.6"? ^^^^^ (...) (26 years ago, 4-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)
