Can anyone confirm or deny that the flexible axles in the 8448 Supercar were
first released in Znap sets?

There were flexible axles in the Znap (motorized) sets. But they are much
different than the ones in the 8448. The ones in Znap are "drive" axles, they
allow the motor to be in one orientation and the item(s) driven to be in
another. It uses a metal cable between two plastic axles. VERY nice piece.

Ah!  Thank you, Wayne.

P.S. Dear LEGO - PLEASE bring Znap to the USA. I've only been able to get them
through other people and have them shipped. I'd buy LOTS more if they were on
my local TRU or Target shelves..

From the rumblings in lugnet.loc.uk, it doesn't seem likely -- people only
appreciate Znap when it's on clearance. :-/

Steve
