(...) I didn't know how transparency is coded for in a DAT file so I didn't write any code to handle it--it would be simple enough to translate. A lot of polygons fail to reflect light because I was not sure about surface normals. My program just (...) (25 years ago, 7-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

(...) goes (...) Hmmm, so your program generates its own render code? The examples on your site look a little crunchy. I can't tell, is it rendering transparent parts at all? It looks like it is making them black. Since I tend to make trmendously (...) (25 years ago, 7-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

LDraw to QuickTime was Re: Usefull little feature

I played with the QuickTime tools and my converter last night. The process goes like this: Process a DAT file with LTrans.pl (my program) to get a .3dmf file (8k) Use 3D Movie Maker on that to get a .mov file (8k) At this point you have a QuickTime (...) (...) step (...) Thanks, Erik! I'll look into the conversion to QTVR. The only way I've done it is by feeding the QTVR Builder an image matrix of individual frames, but it only stands to reason that QTVR can convert from a QT movie... but then, (...) (25 years ago, 6-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

(...) Another nice thing about LDraw type programs is that you see the model being built as it renders, unlike POV, where you just see the final image. --Bram Bram Lambrecht / o o \ BramL@juno.com ---...---oooo-----(_...o---...--- WWW: (URL) (25 years ago, 6-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Usefull little feature idea for Ldite [was: Re: Help with LDLite]

I have written a straight-to-QuickTime converter for DAT files. I don't know about making a QTVR file, but, it makes a 3DMF file which you convert in 1 step to a MOOV. The movie rotates the model in realtime in any QuickTime player. I am pretty (...) (25 years ago, 6-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Render

Does anyone have the code for/how to render LDraw models. I want to be able to make a Visual Basic program. Any help would be nice. Adam (25 years ago, 6-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)
