6002 mpd version, did I do this right?  [DAT]

Here is my first attempt at an .MPD file, it is the 6002 piece. I'm not sure if I did it right however becuase when I go to view it in LDRAW it only shows half the piece. Please let me know if this piece was done corectly or not. 0 FILE 6002.mpd 0 (...) (23 years ago, 6-May-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

6002 mpd version, now I think I got it.  [DAT]

Sorry about the last post, I just downloaded L3Lab and it views MPD files properly. I then discovered I made a blunder in the MPD version do here is the corrected version. 0 FILE 6002.mpd 0 part 6002 round Panel 6 x 6 x 9 with Spherous Top 0 by Mark (...) (...) I think the top of the file should look like this - then it will launch L3Lab as a plugin from the web interface. 0 FILE 6002.dat 0 part 6002 round Panel 6 x 6 x 9 with Spherous Top 0 by Mark Kennedy 0 based on 2572 by unknown author 0 with (...)   Re: 6002 mpd version, now I think I got it.

Since I noticed this uses bits of the only piece I ever made, I felt compelled to check it out. Looks nice. One thing though. I used the hires primitives in the p\48 subdirectory for 30056.dat. These don't quite match up with the regular primitives. (...) (23 years ago, 7-May-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

(...) Just to test this out I dug up Travis Cobbs' hires sphere from about 8 months ago in (URL) and pasted it in. I also substituted the other hires primitives from the p\48 subdirectory.   Re: 6002 mpd version, now I think I got it.  [DAT]

Ok I dug up the hires ring generator program I made when I did 30056.dat and generated hires versions of 1-4rin18.dat 1-4ring9.dat so now it's all there in glorious hires with no ugly seams. 0 FILE 6002.dat 0 part 6002 round Panel 6 x 6 x 9 with (...)   Re: 6002 mpd version, now I think I got it.

(...) You might want to consider submitting those new hi-res primitives for inclusion in the next parts update, they could probably be used in other files as well. (23 years ago, 9-May-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: 6002 mpd version, now I think I got it.

(...) Sure, but if you're going to submit the hi-res version of 6002.dat then why don't you just submit the new primitives along with it in an MPD file? I think that's reasonable. By the way, do you happen to know if the hi-res sphere primitive has (...) (23 years ago, 9-May-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: 6002 mpd version, now I think I got it.

(...) I don't *think* it has been submitted. Then again, new primitives are handled differently than new part files. Steve (23 years ago, 9-May-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: 6002 mpd version, now I think I got it.

(...) Actualy I think it would be better to submit the primitives seperately so they can be used on other models as well, plus it makes the file smaller which was why I split the piece up in the first place. I'm somewhat of a byte miser trying to (...) (23 years ago, 10-May-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: 6002 mpd version, now I think I got it.

(...) I was under the impression that you can submit them all as one MPD file and then someone in charge takes it apart and puts the individual files in the right directories (as long as the MPD file contains the paths).   6002, similar to 6909?

Don and Mark, I recently aquired partn number 6909 which is a 4 x 4 x 6 (?) Round Panel with Spherous Top. I can't help but notice how similar it is to 6002 and was wondering if you two were going to try to make that part also. I tried a little, but (...) (...) I haven't seen this part yet, but I have 6059 which is a 3 x 3 x 6 round panel with a spherous top. the problem I discovered was that the top part wasn't a true sphere so I would not be able to use the sphere primitives and the file size would (...) Mark: (...) Have you - or somebody else - started working on <part:6059>[1]? I could use it (well, actually I have used it) for the building instructions for Katrines bus stop[2].
