Submitted for your approval, my very first Ldraw part: The cat.

I'm a newbie to the program, via MLcad, and I've been enjoying the experience a
lot. I really needed this part, and as far as I could see no one was working on
it, so I decided to try a hand at it myself as soon as I obtained my first cat.

This part was done mostly by eye, though the stud hole on the bottom edge was
matched to the primitives. I had no better 3D modeling program to work with
than MLcad itself, which made it a bit more of a challenge. The part is broken
into three sections: Middle, right, and left. Lines are along the bottom edge,
the stud hole's inner ring, the eyes, nose, and ears. The cat's face is fairly
close to what it should be, and I tried my best on the difficult hindquarters.
If anyone wants to modify this further, that's fine by me.

Comments? Did I do any of this all right?

I think it's a pretty amazing first part! Nice work. I'm not sure about use
of the edge lines on things like the eyes, etc. These get lost when you POV.
If there really are marks or grooves in the part there, you may want to try
to model them.

But I ain't an author so I can't say for sure.

(...) Thanks! The edge lines I put in for Ldraw's and MLcad's sake; they make it easier to see the important features of the cat's face, plus the edge along the bottom I think is important to preserve. In POV-Ray of course they vanish, though. I (...) (23 years ago, 25-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)
