    Re: New Part: 3001_d.dat - Duplo Brick 2 x 4 —Steve Bliss
(...) To find the correct part number, take a DUPLO 2x4 and examine the underside. There should be a 4 or 5 digit number stamped into the part, usually on the underside of the top. This is the part number. (...) standard. The next available number (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

        Re: New Part: 3001_d.dat - Duplo Brick 2 x 4 —Tore Eriksson
(...) Strange. I named the Scala stud to Stud5.dat, but someone renamed it to StudSc.dat. So I thought StudDu*.dat would follow that new pattern... Please note that there are solid Duplo studs on some Duplo baseplates, even though the most common (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

         Re: New Part: 3001_d.dat - Duplo Brick 2 x 4 —Steve Bliss
(...) I hope that 'someone' wasn't me! (...) In my clean, no local modifications installation of the LDraw Parts Library, the scala stud file is stud5.dat. (...) Yep, I almost posted that those needed to be done, but then I realized that they could (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

         Updated (again) Part: 3011.dat - Duplo Brick 2 x 4 & discussion —Tony Hafner
(...) I too have stud5.dat as the Scala stud. As I further cleaned up the 2x2 and 2x4, something else jumped out at me that I hadn't seen before because the part was further off in other areas. Tore's top stud looked good to me at first, but then as (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

         Re: New Part: 3001_d.dat - Duplo Brick 2 x 4 —Tore Eriksson
(...) Sorry, my mistake. I think someone suggested the change, and I must have taken it for an official decision. I have no idea who suggeted the name change, only that I didn't like it then, and I don't like it now. My 33062 looks like this: 0 (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

         Re: New Part: 3001_d.dat - Duplo Brick 2 x 4 —Tony Hafner
(...) Ah, I forgot about primitive substitution. For that reason, we probably should have a special primitive for Duplo studs (as you previously did), not a scaled-up stud4.dat as I suggested (and as I used in my recent Duplo parts). On the specific (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

        Re: New Part: 3001_d.dat - Duplo Brick 2 x 4 —Tony Hafner
(...) I originally thought that the numbers were based on the Lego numbers, but my (admittedly brief) research told me that they didn't, as I found no matches out of about 6 pieces. I realize that parts will often change numbers (how many System 2x4 (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

        Re: New Part: 3001_d.dat - Duplo Brick 2 x 4 —Steve Bliss
(...) Often the number remains the same across relatively minor variations. Sometimes even across major variations. (...) Sort of, but there's another potential primitive lurking about, that is even more useful, to provide good modeling. This is a (...) (24 years ago, 8-Jan-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

        Re: New Part: 3001_d.dat - Duplo Brick 2 x 4 —Tony Hafner
(...) After looking a little closer at other parts (and some contact with Tore), I have become convinced that the interior details are probably more than we need to model anyway. The only important interior structures are: Center stud Side ribs (the (...) (24 years ago, 9-Jan-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

        Re: New Part: 3001_d.dat - Duplo Brick 2 x 4 —Don Rogerson
(...) I like the flattened sides simply because they are a visible feature of the bricks. But then I would also have tackled the little depression on the top center, too. There is the fact that this particular detail varies from brick to brick. The (...) (24 years ago, 9-Jan-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

        Re: New Part: 3001_d.dat - Duplo Brick 2 x 4 —Tony Hafner
(...) True. But the internal supports are also a very visible feature if you look underneath- much more so than the flattened edges in my opinion. And we seem to be agreeing that these aren't important. These and the top depression also add a (...) (24 years ago, 9-Jan-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)
