Re: New Part: 41530 Propellor 8 Blade 5 Diameter

(...) It looks like you can't post DAT files in FTX mode; you have to use Plain Text, as the file is still scrambled. As for the part itself, you definitely want to create sub-part for a single blade, and then reference that sub-part 8 times in the (...) (19 years ago, 30-Nov-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

New Part: 41530 Propellor 8 Blade 5 Diameter  [DAT]

This is a cool little part that can work as an escape wheel for a clock. I wanted a dat file for it, but nobody seems to have made one, so I made my own. This is my first try at making a dat part, so please let me know if I made some mistakes. (...) (19 years ago, 29-Nov-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

Re: Finding a rotation matrix for a triangle

Uhm, it's the rotation VECTOR I need... The rotation matrix would just screw up the dimensions of the primitive. So does anyone have a program or formula that can give me the rotation vector of a triangle? -NB (19 years ago, 27-Nov-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Finding a rotation matrix for a triangle  [DAT]

Hi I'm working on a couple of LDraw parts, and need know a way to calculate a rotation matrix that corresponds to a quad (triangle), so that I can place a 1-4 edge.dat on it at the correct angle: Can anyone tell me how to do it? I can't see that (...) (19 years ago, 26-Nov-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: New Part: 712p01.dat - Wing 4 x 8 Curved Left with Red Edge

(...) I'd like to point out that it's fairly important not to mis-spell "Unofficial". The reason for this is that programs (such as LDView, and in the future L3P) recognize the "0 Unofficial Part" comment and act accordingly. The won't recognize (...)   New old train parts

Hi, I have created to new old train parts and uploaded these to the parts tracker. 'new' because these parts are new for LDraw, 'old' because the parts themselves are old. Part x511 is the old Electric Train Track Contact Base for the blue track: (...) (19 years ago, 29-Oct-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Anyone working on monorail tracks?

(...) Well, we traced over them today and the two parts do not match each other (i.e. they have slightly different radii and are not complimentary/mirror images of one another). Maybe this is true, but I suspect it's just the angle of the part in (...) (19 years ago, 25-Oct-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

Re: Anyone working on monorail tracks?

(...) I tilted the underside shots to show how the attachment points affect the framework, because it wouldn't be possible to see in a head on-shot (which would be pretty warped anyways).   Re: Anyone working on monorail tracks?

Thanks for that, I'll see what my students can do. Couple of questions/comments: The info scans are great because they show how the parts go together, as well as the undersides.. Unfortunately they're not so good for measuring because the extra (...) (19 years ago, 21-Oct-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

Re: Anyone working on monorail tracks?

I did some scans in 100dpi yesterday, and am making a combined picture of each part with comments. I will be making a special scan for the curve in a higher reslolution afterwards. Cheers NB (19 years ago, 20-Oct-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Anyone working on monorail tracks?

Re: Anyone working on monorail tracks?

  New Jedi Starfighter canopy? Anyone?

I'm looking for a .dat for the canopy from the new Jedi Starfighter: (URL) I would be happy to have an unprinted one... is anyone working on this? I didn't find it on the tracker. (2 URLs) Tony Hafner (URL) www.hafhead.com> (19 years ago, 14-Oct-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)
