  technic gear tooth primitive  [DAT]

Okay. Here is a primitive version of the tooth for all those technic gears. So far I've incorporated it into part 3647 and am working on putting it in 3648. 0 technic gear tooth 0 Name: cog.dat 0 Author: Mark Kennedy 1 16 1.50 1 0 -0.50 0 0 1 0 0 0 (...)   Re: new axle hole (part two)

(...) Oops. Thanks. It's fixed now. Steve (22 years ago, 19-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)

  Re: new axlehole (part1)

(...) Sorry, I didn't see that in the tracker. I also submitted a new version of the magnet 73092 under the name of MAG.DAT since 73092 was taken. (22 years ago, 19-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)

  Re: Baseplates with pattern

(...) I suppose that would be a problem. It would be more of a problem, if stud-logos were part of LDraw. It would also be more of a problem, if this were a smaller part. By the time people get to using 32x32 baseplates, they aren't usually looking (...) (22 years ago, 18-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Baseplates with pattern

(...) Not unless the subparts would be used multiple times within the part file. Just put the code for the painted studs in the part file. Steve (22 years ago, 18-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: new axle hole (part two)

(...) Yes, yes you do. I believe you have the descriptions for 4 and 5 reversed. :-) 2 - (and so do I) (22 years ago, 18-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)

Re: new axle hole (part two)

(...) Lack of planning, I think. ;) Seriously, the axleholes are more complex than most other types of primitives, and presented in different ways in LEGO bricks. So there's a need for more variations. Just for fun,[1] I put together a gallery of (...) (22 years ago, 18-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)

  Re: new axlehole (part1)

(...) [snipped DAT code] Mark, Is this primitive supposed to be a substantially different profile than axleho11.dat? Other than splitting it into two different files. (URL) Steve (22 years ago, 18-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)

  Re: Baseplates with pattern

That would work but... what if you want to render the base with the Lego logo on the studs? L3P and LDView use the stud primitve to determine Lego logo placement. I could live with no Lego logo on some studs but for those who insist on perfection (...) (22 years ago, 18-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Baseplates with pattern

(...) So, what do you think we should do? Several subparts for every new pattern? CU Bernd (22 years ago, 17-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Baseplates with pattern

(...) First, make a plain version of the part, and call it 6092.dat. For LDraw, we always include a plain version of parts, even if LEGO never released the part without a pattern. (...) Once you've got a plain 6092.dat, copy the file to 6092p01.dat. (...) (22 years ago, 17-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Female Ldraw Parts

(...) In general, save the files to C:\ldraw\parts\, with the extension .DAT. In MLCAD, use File | Scan Parts to make sure MLCAD knows about the file(s) you downloaded. For other programs, run the utility c:\ldraw\mklist.exe to rebuild the parts (...) (22 years ago, 17-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Baseplates with pattern

(...) Unless the color makes up 95%+ of the stud, I don't think this would be a good approach. (...) I don't think LEGO's pattern will cooperate with us to make neat sections of studs. So I don't think this approach would really work. Also, thinking (...) (22 years ago, 17-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Baseplates with pattern

(...) Hi all, I know this problem and I think the solutions could be: 1) You take the color which covers the most of the stud. 2) We need to make a half (resp. quarter) stud that could be colored in different colors. Let me know, what you think (...) (22 years ago, 17-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Baseplates with pattern

Dear All, Next my question to you reffers to part I've already started. It is baseplate from the set 5978. It is similar to part 6092px1 I found in peeron.com ((URL) Form is the same, but color and pattern are different. It is rather complicated and (...)   Patterned tiles

Dear All, I've just started my adventure with creating of LDraw parts. I plan to send you my first parts for your evaluation. However I have some questions now. I send them in successive e-mails.
