I don't remember for sure, but I started working on the canoe part
because I wanted to use the canoe on this model.
I *do* remember that I started playing around with the idea of
canoe-as-drive-port as an exercise in using SPUDs in unusual ways. But
I'm not sure who got me started on that kick.
I wonder if the canoes would be more effective if I reversed them? So
the bottom of the canoe was facing outward. That would be really nice
if they were trans-red, so I could light them up.
