What about passing axis points to larger models? Each submodel
needs to be able to say:
0 use the rotational center of the following part:
1 15 0 50 -34 1 0 0 0 0 -1 0 1 0 part.DAT
Then inheritance (not really "inheritance", but whatever) would be as
follows:
0 ROTATION (keyword for inheritance) CENTER nameOfNextPart
nameToBeUsedInThisPart
0 ROTATION (keyword for inheritance) AXIS nameOfNextPart
nameToBeUsedInThisPart
for example:
0 ROTATION INHERIT CENTER hinge elbow
0 ROTATION INHERIT AXIS hinge elbow
1 15 0 50 -34 1 0 0 0 0 -1 0 1 0 partWithHinge.DAT
Then the submodel will have a rotational point at the "hinge" that would
be defined in partWithHinge. This submodel's rotation point will have the
name "elbow", which can also be inherited if it is included in a larger
model.
