Hmmm, subparts are used by many parts so I can see how they might be
referenced a gazillion times by an extremely large model file like Datsville.

Datville's "MovedTo.log" file is closing up to 500kB. Half a million
characters.  That's a whole lot of name changes - and yet I know I have
forgotten to add some to the log file...

What tool makes the movedto.log file that's giving you such trouble?
Can it be adjusted to only list the moved parts, and not subparts?
Perhaps that's the solution.  Break the problem down into manageable
pieces.
