Umm... you REALLY should use a better string element than mine! It is really not
very accurate as it doesn't model the three strands at all. It was just a quick
hack, and it has fixed colors, if LEGO ever do red or white string it won't
work.

I think that a string type that uses pulleys as constraints is important too.
The two synthesis classes: hose and band (i.e. spline and arcs/tangents) are
separate things, yet string fits naturally into both.

The right answer is to allow synthesis for both classes.  To do this currently,
I need two names, one for splining and one for arc/tangent.  Also in arc/tangent
I'll have to allow elimination from the last constraint back to the first
constraint.

Anyone got any ideas for naming of these two implementations of string?
Alternate ideas?

As for naming? arc_string1 and spline_string1? Maybe I'm not understanding the
question... (the 1 is to allow for future improved versions...)

(...) Will it be a problem if LEGO ever do green string? ;) At this time, using the best available string element seems like the way to go. AFAIK, Larry's string is the best. Steve (19 years ago, 26-Apr-05, to lugnet.cad)
