  Import Mlcad-file to another cadprogram

I want to import my MLcad-file into another CAD-program, "Proengineer". Do anyone know if it is possible and how to do? /Magnus (18 years ago, 19-Dec-06, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

Re: LDraw Official Model Repository (OMR)

(...) I don't wish to dissuade you from going ahead with this, but I'm just wondering if there's really that much demand for such a thing. I recall seeing something similar a few years ago. It was pretty much dormant, and looked like it had been for (...) (18 years ago, 19-Dec-06, to lugnet.cad)

Re: LDraw Official Model Repository (OMR)

(...) I'm a visitor/user not a programer (in any sense of the word). My two cents: Great Idea. To be able to download a model that I don't have (and thus can't CAD myself) is awesome. Moderating them is good for the users to protect them from models (...) (18 years ago, 19-Dec-06, to lugnet.cad)

Re: LDraw Official Model Repository (OMR)

(...) Presumably, yes. (...) Yes (...) That's great. I'm not sure I'd want to reject a legitimate submission outright but it could be assign a "need work" tag. I'm also not interested in making the OMR like the Parts Tracker. In other words, I want (...) (18 years ago, 19-Dec-06, to lugnet.cad)

Re: LDraw Official Model Repository (OMR)

(...) Ok, this shows how clueless I am, but what language will it be? Will it be part of the postnuke framework? Is it PHP? (...) Ok, I'm not promising, but I actually may like to do that. Especially if I get to deny submissions because it was (...) (18 years ago, 19-Dec-06, to lugnet.cad)

Re: LDraw Official Model Repository (OMR)

(...) Should it allow for multiple versions of the same set? Seems mean if 2 people both happen to have done the same set not to be able to credit them both. And there's the problem of who decides which one is "best" anyway. Maybe it could be like (...) (18 years ago, 18-Dec-06, to lugnet.cad)

  LDraw Official Model Repository (OMR)

I'm going to start development on the LDraw.org OMR. Currently I'm in the brainstorming and idea phase of the project. Here's my ideas: - Automated submission via forms - Submissions moderated prior to inclusion in the database - Automatic previw (...) (18 years ago, 18-Dec-06, to lugnet.cad)

Re: First SNOT spheres, now SNOT bunnies?

(...) I'm not a math or a CS person really, so some of my notation could very well be wrong. What I meant is that k should be 1, 2, or 3, whichever gives you the biggest answer. (...) Yes. (...) Thanks! --Bram (18 years ago, 18-Dec-06, to lugnet.build.sculpture, lugnet.cad)

Re: First SNOT spheres, now SNOT bunnies?

(...) I always thought $k\in\{1,2,3\}$ was pretty much equivalent in this situation to $k=1,2,3$. By your definition you are assigning k to be equal to the set as opposed to a value. (...) I think you're right about this one. (...) Tim (18 years ago, 18-Dec-06, to lugnet.build.sculpture, lugnet.cad)

Re: First SNOT spheres, now SNOT bunnies?

(...) Hmm. Most of that went over my head. Still, there were a few things that I think confused me due to more than my incipient senility: In formula 3, shouldn't that be "Let k\in \{1,2,3\} such that . . ." rather than "Let k=\{1,2,3\} such that .   New LDraw Parts Admin appointed

I am pleased to announce that a third LDraw Parts Admin has been appointed to join Steve Bliss and myself. Ross Crawford (ROSCO) is well known to many in the LDraw community, is currently a member of the LDraw Standards Committee, and has kindly (...) (18 years ago, 17-Dec-06, to lugnet.cad) !

Re: First SNOT spheres, now SNOT bunnies?

(...) This is already an option! Use the command line "-b 1" to get the bottom layer of plates studs up instead of studs down. Increase 1 to whatever number of layers you want studs up (it'll do 5 layers at a time, so the next meaningful layer (...) (18 years ago, 15-Dec-06, to lugnet.build.sculpture, lugnet.cad)

Re: First SNOT spheres, now SNOT bunnies?

(...) Another handy option might be one to flip bricks pointing down so that they point up. So the sculpture would be completely studs out execept for the bottom, which would always be studs up instead of studs down like it is now. Not sure how this (...)   Re: LDD vs LDraw

(...) I don't even keep a copy of the vertices in system memory, I upload them all to the video card and forget about them. It might not be terribly bad to sort the triangles per frame since usually there aren't that many translucent pieces but I (...) (18 years ago, 15-Dec-06, to lugnet.cad)
