Concerning LDView (was: Automatic download of unofficial parts in LDView)

Hi Travis, this option seems very useful, but I am still unable to run the newest version of LDView on my computer :o(. Do I need any special drivers etc.? LDView 2 works perfectly. Leg Godt- Sven (18 years ago, 14-May-06, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: Automatic download of unofficial parts in LDView

Sorry to so quickly respond to my own post, but I forgot to mention something. One of the sample models that LDView comes with makes use of a fair number of unofficial parts (15, to be exact). Those parts make use of 14 unofficial primitives and 1 (...) (18 years ago, 14-May-06, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, FTX)

Automatic download of unofficial parts in LDView

I'm working on a feature in LDView where it will automatically check the parts tracker for unofficial parts when it encounters a file that it can't find. This has the potential to produce a fairly large amount of requests to the parts tracker, so I (...) (18 years ago, 14-May-06, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, FTX)

  LPub hi-res

I recently upgraded my computer, and I was never able to get Lpub to work on my old computer, so I did all my instructions by hand with Povray. Well now I have a new computer, and I seem to have got Lpub sorta mostly working, but I have this (...) (18 years ago, 12-May-06, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Stereograms of my Space and Vignette MOCs

(...) I totally agree, Tim. Feels like you're actually in the station, at minifig scale. Now if you could get that effect on LCD-display glasses in real-time video - that would be sweet. (18 years ago, 11-May-06, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Re: LEGO Factory Updated

(...) Having tried some .mpd files it seems to be a bit selective as to how well it copes. Some sub-assemblies seem to come out perfectly, while others are misplaced and some missing completely. It still works far better than I though it would. I'm (...) (18 years ago, 11-May-06, to lugnet.cad)

--SNIP-- (...) Hi Joe, I hope this satisfies. It's all set up now so if you ever want some bigger versions done it's just a matter of render time. (URL) In (URL) and (URL) pairs. Tim (18 years ago, 11-May-06, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Re: LEGO Factory Updated

(...) Having tried this with a random MOC I had it works a treat. One thing to watch out for tho is that some parts seem to have a different origin in LDD to Ldraw and so will appear out of position. (the particular part I found this on was the (...) (18 years ago, 10-May-06, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Re: LEGO Factory Updated

(...) Thats even cooler, I have absolutely no problems living without the sub assemblies feature as long as it include the part in the LDD model (yay, all my Ldraw MOCs are .mpds) Tim (18 years ago, 10-May-06, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: LEGO Factory Updated

(...) LDD can load mpd files but it flattens them during the loading process (LDD doesn't support grouping or subassemblies). When you save it out again it will be saved out as a flat list of bricks so remember to keep a backup. -- Marc Sutton Lead (...) (18 years ago, 10-May-06, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: LEGO Factory Updated

(...) OK, I have to admit that this seems to work very well. (Well, exporting anyway; importing seems more hit and miss due to part constraints in LDD.) Having said that, I'd like to request here that this be added to the documentation. It's (...) (18 years ago, 10-May-06, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: Stereograms of my Space and Vignette MOCs

(...) LDView doesn't support orthagonal cameras at all, actually. It supports camera angles as small as 0.1 degrees, which end up looking really close to orthagonal, but it doesn't support orthagonal cameras. I'm assuming Jeffery's original images (...)
