  Re: LDraw.org Contributer Agreement Status

(...) For example: (URL) (just the one I picked off the top of my head) Those people that are getting mail but ignoring Orion... why? This is important. The impact to the entire community will be somewhat negative, we may have to run with two (...) (20 years ago, 18-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.general)

  Re: LDraw.org Contributer Agreement Status

(...) For all the asterisked people, yes. This is how I found the bulk majority of the people whose email was unknown. Also, some of the people on the list are still posting here on Lugnet but for whatever reason have not contacted me. This is why I (...) (20 years ago, 18-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  Re: LDraw.org Contributer Agreement Status

(...) Just wondering if you've tried a Google search using their name (e.g. "Jeff Findley") to see if you can find a new email address. Thanks, Jeff (20 years ago, 18-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: Parts editing made easy (well, easier)

Hi Stefan I don't know anything about neither optional lines or the programs you're converting from, but from a parts reviewers perspective, I'd say that the teapot.ldr looks pretty good. I wouldn't worry so much about automatic subpart generation. (...) (20 years ago, 18-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Parts editing made easy (well, easier)

(I posted this to lugnet.cad toplevel, but considering the total lack of response, I decided to try it down here in .dev instead, where I got all that nice feedback for my last post.) After a couple of days of coding fun, I finally have the ASE to (...) (20 years ago, 18-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: BBB wheels

(...) Wow, those are great. I can't touch that with the software-based converters.. At least not yet! Sorry - didn't know if I needed permission to post the DATs - didn't Ben already make them public? Oh well. I guess I can take them down if people (...)   Re: BBB wheels

(...) Bummer! Oh well. I have yet to get the OK from Ben to post the DATs, but my filesizes are: Ben's Mine fw176.dat 660k 39.7k fd304.dat 881k 50.1k bd304.dat 732k 50.2k (20 years ago, 18-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

  Re: BBB wheels

Er... Never mind. I did it for one part (URL) (original file size 661K) and came up with this one: (URL) - new file size 970K. So the added generations did something funky to the filesize. Oh well, worth a shot! Darrell (20 years ago, 18-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

  Re: BBB wheels

(...) will post my efforts here (and send them to Ben) when complete. (...) Hi, I wonder what would happen if: I converted the BBB file back into 3DS format with 3DWin Opened it in MAX and exported as ASE Ran it through Stefan Gustavson's new (...)   LDraw.org Contributer Agreement Status

It's been a month and a half since the LDraw.org Steering Committee announced the LDraw.org Contributor Agreement. The response has been overwhelming with may positive comments and many old time authors contacting us with their support. We currently (...)   Re: WORD file with LDraw images

(...) AHui, Here's the link: (URL) expanded to include PDF and HTML versions of the file. That guide would be a good candidate for inclusion on the LDraw site. I've just added it to the .build portal page on Lugnet. That guide was indispensable to (...) (20 years ago, 17-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad)

  WORD file with LDraw images

A while back someone posted a word file that had thumbnail images of all the ldraw parts. Does anyone have this file or know what the URL is? Thanks, AHui (20 years ago, 17-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Longitudinal-latitudinal coordinates calulator?

(...) The above is simple but if you want L3P global coodinates from X,Y,Z coordinates then that's a little more complicated. The zero radius of the L3P global coordinates is determined by the bounding boxes of the parts in the model and the center (...) (20 years ago, 17-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Longitudinal-latitudinal coordinates calulator?

(...) Yeah, I know, I'm not Kevin. But he's working on lsynth now, so it'd be nice if he stuck with it. (...) Ok, I see your point about java, but how about javascript? (URL) you need is a browser, and if you want it stand-alone you just need to do (...) (20 years ago, 17-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Longitudinal-latitudinal coordinates calulator?

(...) hi kevin, I'd like to have it both ways. I provide x,y,z and get lat, long+distance from origin (and yes, the center of the globe is at the LDraw origin) and vice versa. I need this to render backgrounds in bryce using the same camera position (...) (20 years ago, 17-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Sorting by line

(...) Another thought, maybe sorting on the center of the axis-aligned bounding box for the line? For lines this would be the center of the line but would it be the center of the tri or quad? My visualzation skills are elluding me at the moment. (...) (20 years ago, 16-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Longitudinal-latitudinal coordinates calulator?

  Re: Longitudinal-latitudinal coordinates calulator?

(...) Does this help any? (URL) no cut-n-paste, but I bet if you google with the right keywords you'll find something better. I used these: spherical coordinates convert applet Enjoy, Don (20 years ago, 16-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Longitudinal-latitudinal coordinates calulator?

(...) Hi Willy, Are you wanting to provide X,Y,Z and getting lattitide and longitide in L3P format? Are we to assume that the center of the globe is at the LDraw origin? Kevin (20 years ago, 16-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad)
