  Re: LEGOfactory and LDraw

(...) Better would be to say: not at all, without significant amount of work :-/ The parts in part library used in LDD have differently placed rotation points, center points and default position (when compared to LDraw parts). One would need to (...) (20 years ago, 15-Nov-04, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.mlcad)

Re: LEGOfactory.com launches... and it's big!

(...) Actually, that could be a good thing. Each pallet *.lxf file is just an archive containing BRICK*.CHUNK part files. (The model *.lxf files are archives each containing a MODEL100.MODEL file.) If a converter is ever programmed, it could make (...) (20 years ago, 15-Nov-04, to lugnet.cad.dev, FTX)

  Re: Minifig hair and hats

(...) How do you think most parts are made? On irregular parts, there's usually only so much measuring that can be done. In the end, (at least for me), things come down to eyeballing and a certain amount of adjusting things until they work. OTOH, if (...) (20 years ago, 15-Nov-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Multi MPD scenes

(...) It would 'know' the Main for sub-MPDS the same way it knows the Main for the main-MPD - the first FILE block in the MPD file is the Main. Steve (20 years ago, 15-Nov-04, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Multi MPD scenes

(...) That is correct MLCad and every other program that I know of currenlty CANNOT use MPDs as sub-models. I think it is an issue with the MPD format itself. How whould MLCad know which MPD or LDR is the MAIN? -AHui LDraw Help Desk (URL) (20 years ago, 14-Nov-04, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: LEGOfactory.com launches... and it's big!

(...) Marc (or anyone!) ... I have another technical question regarding these "brick palletes". I've finally managed to get LDD to run ... after about 9 hours of installing service packs and drivers. Regardless, I was able to use it (relatively) (...) (20 years ago, 14-Nov-04, to lugnet.cad.dev, FTX)

  Re: Multi MPD scenes

(...) Niels you took my instructions out of content. See below: 2) Export all the .mpd files that you want to use into the MODELS folder 3) Open MLCad and using the “models” tab drop & drag to create your scene. By doing step 2 and placing all the (...) (20 years ago, 14-Nov-04, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Re: Multi MPD scenes

Hi guys, AFAIK, you still can't acces .mpd's via MLCAd's model "window" as Ahui suggested (although I haven't tried his approach): (...) But there's a neat "export" function in the file menu, where you can export .mpd's as .ldr's to a temp. folder. (...) (20 years ago, 14-Nov-04, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Minifig hair and hats

Is anyone working on more basic minifig stuff? Seems like every other week there are new patterns available, but not some of the basics like hair and some hats.   Re: Multi MPD scenes

(...) When you say "render" are you refering to in POV-Ray or seeing your models in MLCad? That I know of there is no utility to merge different .mpd files together.   Multi MPD scenes

I've looked through the LDraw download list and I can't find anything that seems to do this. Does anyone know of a utility to render multiple mpd files all together in a single "scene"? I know I can export all the parts then import them all into a (...) (20 years ago, 13-Nov-04, to lugnet.cad)
