  MLCAD Drag and Drop Stacking

Dear Micheal Lachmann, Hey I was wondering how to stack bricks on the MLCad, whenever I drag them over they just overlap eachother. Thanks Matt C. (21 years ago, 27-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad)

  LPub install trouble

I've installed LPub, and like my unsuccessful megapov installation, it can't find the POV-Ray registry entry... "Cannot find POV-Ray installation entries" "You must install POV-Ray before running LPub" I've installed POV-Ray 3.5 and it works fine. (...) (21 years ago, 27-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Crazy, OK Heretical Idea ...

(...) Jason: There are lots of 3D formats out there; some proprietary, some semi-proprietary, and some completely open. Besides the 3D game folks, there are the 3D art programs (e.g. 3D Studio Max) and the 3D CAD/CAM folks (e.g. AutoCAD.) Each area (...) (21 years ago, 27-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad)

  megapov install trouble

When I try to launch megapov (which I've installed in my pov-ray bin directory) I get the following error: cannot find Home entry in registry. This entry should have been set by the installation program. If you did not install using the correct (...) (21 years ago, 27-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: MLCAD for Linux :D

Xantra47, Dan Boger, Jan-Alert van Ree I take your descriptions, insert them into a web-page as they are. Do you have any public useable email addresses where users can write to if they have troubles? Otherwice I would take that of your (...) (21 years ago, 27-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  Re: lsynth install trouble

(...) Now I know. It gives the same "can't find" error when I try to synthesize a part. Thanks, Amy (21 years ago, 27-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: lsynth install trouble

(...) Hmm... can't help you here (...) Yhe parts are probably unofficial parts from the Parts Tracker. Since the Parts Tracker is currently unavailable you go and get them. Maybe somebody who has them can Email them to you. -Orion (21 years ago, 27-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad)

  lsynth install trouble

I installed Lsynth as administrator (as I must do) on my w2k Pro system. I'm having two problems... 1) As a non-administrator user running Lsynth I get a dialog that says "Unable to find lsynth install directory!". I don't have this problem as (...) (21 years ago, 27-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad)

I want to make and inventory off my LEGO and I have an idea

I tryed to make an inventory of all parts of all models listed in my inventory so far lets say 6 models but Briktrack doesn't show all parts of any or all models. What's wrong? What software or way is best to do this without building all my LEGO (...) (21 years ago, 27-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Crazy, OK Heretical Idea ...

In lugnet.cad, Damien Guichard writes: <snip> (...) The reason for this is that in order to figure out a 2nd generation spec that will be backward compatible with the 1st generation spec we have to fully document what the 1st generation spec is, (...) (21 years ago, 27-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: minifig arm

(...) Thanks. It is, indeed, the new ones I have. They don't fit flush at the shoulders and they overlap the body near the elbow, but this may be fixable with a rotation. I'll see how the minifig generator assembles them after I've finished this (...) (21 years ago, 27-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: LSC Draft Proposal Version 0.7

(...) I've marked up all I can see that needs to be tweaked up to this point. If anyone wants to have a look at what I have, please email me or post here, and I'll mail it to you. I don't want to post yet another revision, just to revise it again, (...) (21 years ago, 27-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Crazy, OK Heretical Idea ...

(...) No flames here. Go for it. (...) What project you take on in what form is up to you, but perhaps before branching off to something totally new, you could consider getting involved with the topic of LDraw file format standards? Maybe you could (...) (21 years ago, 27-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Crazy, OK Heretical Idea ...

(...) Hi Jason, Sure there is much discussion about standardization of "1st generation" LDraw file format and nothing about a "2nd generation" file format that would break compatibility. Using only these 5 bricks i have built 30+ lego animals: * (...) (21 years ago, 27-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Error in part 3867.dat? (Baseplate 16 x 16)

  Re: minifig arm

(...) Yes, and if you are complete you have both. 981.dat and 982.dat are the newer ones in the book, they appear when loading a recent file and when using MLCad v3.0 minifig generator. 975.dat and 976.dat are the obsolete ones that appear when (...)   Re: Crazy, OK Heretical Idea ...

(...) My vote is for MD3. Heres why: Discreet (makers of 3ds max) released a special version called Gmax. Gmax is designed as a way to make new graphics for games and can only save to its own special format (*.gmax) and can only export via special (...) (21 years ago, 27-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Crazy, OK Heretical Idea ...

(...) Yeah that's why I included it, but IMHO human readable isn't a big deal if we take advantage of the existing tools. Milkshape with "extra" features like LCD (Lego Connection Database) Tags could be quite workable though.... (...) Cool and (...) (21 years ago, 27-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Crazy, OK Heretical Idea ...

(...) Im not sure about md2, obj or md3, but at least milkshape is human readable. unfortunately, It doesn't support include files like ldraw .dat files do. I like the idea of extending the ldraw format to include the features you outlined. -Chuck (21 years ago, 26-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad)
