Re: Partnames and numbers (wheels and trainwheels)

(...) I've reserved temporary part numbers x242, x243, x244 and x245 for you. So if you don't find out the real numbers, use these temporary numbers instead. For names, I can't give you a definite response until I see the parts (I don't have the old (...) (22 years ago, 18-Oct-02, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Primitives and quads/triangles

  Question about part 6233

I was looking at part 6233 tonight and noticed a number of primitives that are inlined. I restored the part to the non-inlined state and did not notice any change in the part. As there is not one listed in the part header, is there a reason for the (...) (22 years ago, 18-Oct-02, to lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  "Clusters" of Studs?

Inspired by parts\s\4186a.dat, I would like to see "clusters" of studs, say 6 x 6 and 8 x 8. That would make a lot of part files *much* smaller. Maybe we could call them Stud36.dat and Stud64.dat? /Tore (22 years ago, 18-Oct-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)

  Train Trach Switch Progress

This is my most advanced part since I tried to do the horse. Let's hope I'll be able to complete it this time... Here's my progress so far: (URL) (17k) /Tore (22 years ago, 17-Oct-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Part Number For Train Track Switches?

If the straight is 3228, outer curve is 3229, and inner curve is 3230, what is the number for left and right switches? (22 years ago, 17-Oct-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Anyone got a 41881 ?

Anybody got a mockup / unofficial 41881 ? There's only one mention of it in lugnet/cad, and it just says, "coming soon". I tried searching for it in the parts tracker Quick Lookup, but I can't seem to figure it out. I keep getting error messages (...) (22 years ago, 17-Oct-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Primitives and quads/triangles

(...) Sounds great, the wheels have several unusual sized rings (inner radius 8, outer radius 22 or 28) (inner radius 19, outer radius 22) No I have to use two or three rings, or use quads and POV ring: 0 L3P IFNOTPOV ldraw quads (and optional lines (...) (22 years ago, 17-Oct-02, to lugnet.cad)

Partnames and numbers (wheels and trainwheels)

Hej I am about to create a bunch of wheels, but what partnames and titles (first line in datfile) shall I use? * Trainwheel old with 4 studs * Trainwheel old with spokes car * Trainwheel old with spokes loco * Wheel old with spokes The difference (...) (22 years ago, 16-Oct-02, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Illegal Error

(...) Thanks both of you, it worked. The new driver fixed it. Kyle Henneberque P.S. Leonardo, great program! (22 years ago, 17-Oct-02, to lugnet.cad.leocad)

  Re: ... & national flag

(...) Could you possibly make a United States flag for either the 777 or 3596 flags? Either way, I'm looking for something that would look great with an older model like Main Street. Given the small size, I don't expect perfect stars, but 50 of them (...) (22 years ago, 16-Oct-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Primitives and quads/triangles

"Niels Karsdorp" wrote... (...) I will strongly recommend to use primitives whenever possible. Note that L3P v1.3 only supports the 1-4conN.dat primitives, not the 4-4conN.dat. I'll add this to the next version... So, until then use 4 1-4conN.dat (...) (22 years ago, 17-Oct-02, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Primitives and quads/triangles

(...) I use Steve's rotate spreadsheet to figure out what cones/rings I need to fit into a space. Go here to get it: (URL) use the Rings tab. Enter the inner and outer radius and the y height. Then choose a cone primitive and set the scales and (...) (22 years ago, 16-Oct-02, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Primitives and quads/triangles

(...) Looks good in my program (LDView), once I got the file modified back to its original form due to the posting causing some lines to wrap. Looking at the file, I think it would require new cone primitives to allow the use of cone primitives (...) (22 years ago, 16-Oct-02, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Orientation of train tracks

(...) All tracks, including monorail are along the x axis :o( All sleepers and the power connector are along the z axis. :o) Movedto can be used to fix all tracks, but it's not the original intension of movedto. I guess we have to live with it. The (...) (22 years ago, 16-Oct-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Orientation of train tracks

  Orientation of train tracks

I regret that I made the first straight track along the x axis and not the z. It seems I set the standard... Now that I try to make the switch (4.5 v blue), should I keep this unfortunate standard along the x axis or should I make this one correct? (...) (22 years ago, 16-Oct-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Primitives and quads/triangles  [DAT]

(...) I have created a fourth version, using primitives for cylinders and rings. Cones I have created with 16 segment quads for LDraw and a true cone for PovRay (using 0 L3P IFPOV etc.). The results are great! Now I need to find out how type 5 lines (...) (22 years ago, 16-Oct-02, to lugnet.cad)
