  Re: Chrome Parts

(...) Try this. I switched the silver to use the same specular values as the gold. Makes it look shinier from that angle. (URL) (22 years ago, 9-Aug-02, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Chrome Parts

(...) Well I could work with the colors and specular values a bit. I think I used the same colors values as ldview, but picked my own specular values based on empirical testing. I think I used different specular values for silver, so it may look (...) (22 years ago, 9-Aug-02, to lugnet.cad)

Re: New version of MLCad command spec

(...) Note for onlookers: the key thing I get from Don's suggestion is that it reverses the "you may not distribute this spec" from Michael's document to "you can, and should, distribute this spec". Which, IMO, is a better approach. This information (...) (22 years ago, 9-Aug-02, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  Re: Chrome Parts

(...) Yes and it works the same way on ldglite. There's also a tutorial on how to do this with the tools on ldraw.org if you want cut out the Windows box. (URL)Let's see, right now, we've got defined codes (in the dithering range) (...) I'll have to (...) (22 years ago, 9-Aug-02, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Detemining Polygon Winding (Was: New Plugin for LDDesignPad)

(...) Correcting the winding shouldn't be too bad -- if the L3 code is available (ie, look in the ldglite source code) -- check how Lars detects bad winding, and how he figured the (more) correct winding. Steve (22 years ago, 9-Aug-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Chrome Parts

(...) That's a possibility. (...) Hmm... Gold: (2 URLs) gold looks interesting; not exactly "gold plated", but definitely distinctive. But the silver looks remarkably normal. Maybe you implemented shiny-silver as a different color code? Grepping the (...) (22 years ago, 9-Aug-02, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Chrome Parts

(...) The linewidth isn't important, I just use it in conjunction with the scale up/down to get anti-aliasing and lines with normal widths. (...) None of the standard/extended colors are *supposed* to be dithered. Only the non-standard colors (...) (22 years ago, 9-Aug-02, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Chrome Parts

Re: New version of MLCad command spec

(...) Hi Michael, I think we're making progress here, but I'd like to take a stab at speeding things up. I'd like to suggest the zlib license as one that could perhaps make everyone happy. I cut and pasted it here, replacing the word "software" with (...) (22 years ago, 9-Aug-02, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

Re: New Part in progress - Baseplate 32 x 32 with Craters

(...) Huh, this is a real photogrammetry project with aerial pictures, orthophotos, digital elevation model, map processing etc. The next obvious step in the future is to apply GPS technology to capture the Lego landscape :-). Congratulations, Ampi (22 years ago, 9-Aug-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: New version of MLCad command spec

Ahhh, this license is ment for developers of programms only , not for autoring parts!!!!! I've to corret that in the document. For sure the use of this commands in parts is totally free and open to use ... Michael "Steve Bliss" <partsref@yahoo.com> (...) (22 years ago, 9-Aug-02, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  Re: Chrome Parts

(...) Which leads us back to ldglite. Since I let opengl do the linewidths it supports 2x or 4x or even 2.5x (any floating point will do). On the other hand, while I think you'll be satisfied with the gold and silver colors, I'm not sure I (...) (22 years ago, 9-Aug-02, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Chrome Parts

(...) Looking at the images, it doesn't appear to matter much, but you might get better results if your initial rendering were at 4x (or possibly even 2x). The reason for this is that a 3x3 sample of a checkerboard pattern will result in two (...) (22 years ago, 8-Aug-02, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Detemining Polygon Winding (Was: New Plugin for LDDesignPad)

  Re: Chrome Parts

(...) Why don't you try using ldglite for the chrome pieces (or all of them.) It should be a drop in replacement for the ldlite command line, thick edges and all, plus you could do antialiased thick lines with -q. I'm pretty sure I added code to (...) (22 years ago, 8-Aug-02, to lugnet.cad)

[Parts Tracker] Minifig Patterns Updated somewhat

FYI, I've done some more work on the minifig pattern reference pages, which are at: (URL). The basic changes are: - Created Rock Raiders page, assigning codes to all the RR crew. And moved the Jet torso from 973pxx to 973paj. - Cleaned up Star Wars (...) (22 years ago, 8-Aug-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)
