| | Creating Building Instructions for LARGE 40x40+ baseplate models

Has anyone created building instructions using MEGA-POV, POV or something else for big models? I've been sucessful so far using the following combination for small/medium models: 1) Create in Ldraw (.ldr) 2) Convert using L3PAO (.pov) 3) Render (...) (...) On the contrary, I think that type-5 lines are very useful, and an interesting solution. (...) I'm not sure how to quantify 'usefulness' of a line command. If you want to make outlines on simulated curved surfaces in LDraw, conditional lines are vital. I can't think of another to accomplish this task. And making the outlines is fairly (...) (23 years ago, 17-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)

| | Why Type 5 Lines?
|

What is the point of Type 5 lines? It seems to me that they are a confusing and clunky method to display lines for the visible edges of rounded objects when having no line at all would be just as visually correct (and less taxing on the brain to (...) (23 years ago, 17-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)

I've become slighly annoyed with the fact that when I open and then save a .DAT file the NAME block in the file gets changed to *.ldr. (...) Hi all, I know this problem and I think the solutions could be: 1) You take the color which covers the most of the stud. 2) We need to make a half (resp. quarter) stud that could be colored in different colors.
