By this I mean: each black/white join would be 4/4, and each black/black join
would be 4/3. The pentagon wouldnt look quite so pretty, and may look more
like a pinwheel, but maybe it will be flatter -- Im really only guessing,
but its worth a try.
I find your creation quite impressive. Why didnt I think of that.

I tried 4/3/3 - but it didnt work. The triangles couldnt connect to form the
pentagon. The other problem is since Im using the 1x4 hinge plates, if you go
shorter than four studs on a side of the triangle you have to come up with a
different triangle design...
I think bigger is the way to go on this one. *grin*
