Inspired by Steve DeCraemers
S.P.U.
(picture by Rob Hendrix) first shown at Brickfest 2003, I decided to build a
bigger version.
Six BrickLink orders, over 4000 pieces, 180 triangles - and this is what I came
up with.
Gallery (after
moderation) There are only three pictures (plus a readme), so you can see
most of it in the previews!
Two preview pics:
the whole sphere
a close-up
Yea, I know - its silly. But, Im pretty happy with it!
Hope you like it!

| (...) Wow...I love it. What an enormous untaking. What a great meditative project. Makes me want to try a five-color icosidodecahedral net version. Or maybe some other stellated forms. Your model proves anything is possible. --Dave (jot and jab) (21 years ago, 15-Sep-03, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

| Hi John, (...) Sure I do ! You say in (URL) text> "But for some reason I didn't realize that the flat faces of the pentagons would line up with the ajoining hexagon" Actually the problem is that triangle in the pentagons should not be equilateral.
