Nice! I like it when posts like this show up. These are in order of my 'needs'.
1) Music- Usually something with a definitive beat to help keep the creative
juices flowing.
2) A clean workspace- Without a cleaned off table and chair, the best I can
do is microfig creations. Size does matter.
3) Lighting- Vastly underrated, IMHO. Without proper lighting, awful looking
MOCs look good. Kind of the effect of Lego 'beer goggles'.
4) Accessibility to parts- There's nothing worse than having to stop to look
for a specific part.
5) Snacks and drinks- As Soren mentioned, these are also quite important. A
supply of granola and water keeps me happy out in the workshop. The
smoothie-maker doesn't hurt much either. :)

Color. If the colorschemes don't come together relatively quickly, I know
I'm working on a doomed project.

Odd and unusual parts. It's fun to use the parts that train folks deem
'useless'. The smaller the better, obviously.
