And don't forget Orguss which was not included in the American release of
Robotech but (ithink) was related to the Macross series.(and had cool mecha)

There was also a contemporaneous anime series with a main character who got into, hmmm, shall we say romantic situations with the women from popular anime series of the time. (...) Im pretty sure Orguss and Macross are unrelated, because of major animation and story/polt style differences...Also i always thought it was SuperDimensional Calvary Southern Cross i dunno maybe i should actually look around but im lazy..
