Well like one of the other posters said, FASA had to remove a number
of mechs from their products after getting caught using them. Those
mentioned will never be pictured again at the least, I believe that
they can be used/refered to in novels but could easily be mistaken on
that score.
Robotech here in the US was a compilation of three different Japanese
series including Macross and Mospeda, I've forgotten the third. The
original series were not connected in Japan and were merged when
Harmony Gold/Carl Macek (spelling on the last name is ???) acquired
right to use them and had then adapted for the US.
Actually I like the Marauder II in battletech....
If you are looking for stuff with mecha in try, Macross Plus (fairly
recent VHS and DVD) and Patlabor are the 2 that come mind the most
quickly. Orguss (multiple series watch some of the first one) also
has mecha that is a similar scale in comparison to say Neon Genesis
Eveligon (butchered the spelling there also).
Oh how can I forget Gundam Wing and its predecessors? Hmm Battletech
would be more along the lines of the Leo's than the Gundams but still
is interesting to watch.
Bubblegum Crisis and Crash have more of a power armor type of suit
versus a large mech approach.... (meaning they shows has the powered
suits versus robots, not versus mecha)
Hope this gives you a few ideas.
Mike
