  Re: Schwerpunkt a.k.a Focal Point

All right, here goes: Colors: A little freaky at first, but you just can't go wrong with Sand Green. The light gray doesn't bother me at all. Design: Ehhh, not very impressed beyond the joints. Shoulders look flimsy. Do they hinge upwards? (...) (21 years ago, 12-Sep-03, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  SOPHIE!!?? WHY???!!! OH WHY????!!!

I get on the internet, check here 1st, then go look at brickshelf. What draws my eye?? A new GORGON, a horrible sight that moved me to tears. (URL) SOPHIE? OH WHY?? (21 years ago, 12-Sep-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Schwerpunkt a.k.a Focal Point

(...) Thanks, Paul! The color scheme grew out of a need to build those shoulders since the curved half panels aren't available in Dark Grey. I wouldn't mind revisiting the model design with a different colorscheme, but at this point, the parts (...) (21 years ago, 12-Sep-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Getting the stuff for mecha

(...) Ouch! Triple whammy! The only suggestion I can think of is to find someone to buy for you, who would act as an intermediary to purchase parts for you in exchange for a cash payment. This is a slow, potentially expensive way to go and requires (...) (21 years ago, 12-Sep-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Schwerpunkt a.k.a Focal Point

Dave, For what it's worth, I really like the color scheme. The sand green is probably one of my favorite Lego colors. I really like the head and the shoulders look pretty cool as well. I have a potential suggestion, though I don't know if it will (...) (21 years ago, 12-Sep-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Getting the stuff for mecha

Hope ya'll don't mind me asking a question here (especially John Harrison since he started this). I'm still studying and therefore don't have a credit card. My parents would never let me use their credit card to purchase stuff over the internet. And (...) (21 years ago, 12-Sep-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Getting the stuff for mecha

(...) I've posted most of the relevant articles on this page: (URL) a compendium of most of the 'how to' of mecha building.   Re: Getting the stuff for mecha

(...) Eric pretty much covered it all. I, too, give high props to the Exo-Toa for a good parts selection. It's tough to pin down any single set at this point that has what you'd need, but any set that includes joints is a good starting point (...) (21 years ago, 12-Sep-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)
