Dave,
For what it's worth, I really like the color scheme. The sand green is
probably one of my favorite Lego colors. I really like the head and the
shoulders look pretty cool as well.
I have a potential suggestion, though I don't know if it will fit in
with your design or not. I started building a mech based on those hinges
several months ago and basically I have a skeleton. I'll try to get a
picture this weekend and put it on Brickshelf. I used a couple of the large
tubes (like the blue engine flash from the Millennium Falcon only black and
smaller) running from the upper torso to the hips. They give extra
resistance which helps the hinge, yet they are bendable so they will give
allowing it to bend and turn.
Again, I don't know if it will really work with your mech, but you might
be able to find a way. I was also experimenting with using that method to
strengthen the knee joints.
Keep building!
Paul

| (...) Thanks, Paul! The color scheme grew out of a need to build those shoulders since the curved half panels aren't available in Dark Grey. I wouldn't mind revisiting the model design with a different colorscheme, but at this point, the parts (...) (21 years ago, 12-Sep-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)
