I like this idea. Not for this model, but I really like this idea. I can • see how
they would be quite useful for knee and ankle joints. Hips would be much • more
difficult to pull off...how are you accomplishing mobility without killing • off
your waist movement?

Well, right now it's just a skeletal model so it has plenty of room to twist
a bit.  Actually, I just now had a thought:  If you attach the bottom (or
top, I suppose) to a piece that has left-right movement only that would give
you a little more torso twist and maintain tension up and down.  I'll have
to check that out this weekend.  I don't have internet access at home, so
I'll try to get some pics of what I do have this weekend and put them up on
Monday.

Getting the right length and attachment points to make it work for the
intended purpose without limiting other ranges of motion is the hard part.

(...) Thanks, Paul! The color scheme grew out of a need to build those shoulders since the curved half panels aren't available in Dark Grey. I wouldn't mind revisiting the model design with a different colorscheme, but at this point, the parts (...) (21 years ago, 12-Sep-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)
