Dave,
I've uploaded some pics of my pathetic MOC to Brickshelf with special
attention the use of the tubes.  I apologize ahead of time for the crappy
pics.  This was just an exercise in joint tech and will probably never get
finished.  Hope it helps!

Dave,
For what it's worth, I really like the color scheme.  The sand green • is
probably one of my favorite Lego colors.  I really like the head and the
shoulders look pretty cool as well.

Thanks, Paul! The color scheme grew out of a need to build those shoulders • since
the curved half panels aren't available in Dark Grey. I wouldn't mind • revisiting
the model design with a different colorscheme, but at this point, the • parts
aren't quite available for that yet. I'm looking at Light Grey and Dark • Blue as
my base colors....we'll see.

I have a potential suggestion, though I don't know if it will fit in
with your design or not.  I started building a mech based on those • hinges
several months ago and basically I have a skeleton.  I'll try to get a
picture this weekend and put it on Brickshelf.  I used a couple of the • large
tubes (like the blue engine flash from the Millennium Falcon only black • and
smaller) running from the upper torso to the hips.  They give extra
resistance which helps the hinge, yet they are bendable so they will • give
allowing it to bend and turn.

I like this idea. Not for this model, but I really like this idea. I can • see how
they would be quite useful for knee and ankle joints. Hips would be much • more
difficult to pull off...how are you accomplishing mobility without killing • off
your waist movement?

Again, I don't know if it will really work with your mech, but you • might
be able to find a way.  I was also experimenting with using that method • to
strengthen the knee joints.

Keep building!

Thanks man!
