I am interested in building one or two but only have blocks, technic and a
couple of (imho) bionicles that got given to me.

What are good sets to look out for? Do you guys buy stuff off brick link and
the like?

Eric pretty much covered it all. I, too, give high props to the Exo-Toa for a
good parts selection. It's tough to pin down any single set at this point that
has what you'd need, but any set that includes joints is a good starting point
(Rahkshi,Super Battle Droid, AT-TE - are the best examples I can come up with.)

I use Bricklink quite a bit as well, but that might have something to do with
the fact that it's how I finance building my mecha these days. I can recommend
some Australian sellers if you'd like. Just email me.

Build Well,
-Dave
