Fantastic mecha, Geordan! Every new model shows your growth in the areas of articulation and design. The removable armor is something I still haven't attempted yet, but over time I will try this. WOW! What can I say? This is simply amazing. A huge leap for you, IMHO. Your removable armour is great. The posable inner skeleton is terrific. Weapons are good too. Hey everyone! New mecha! Yah! The tiger was just a testbed for the removable armour idea, this is what it was supposed to be... Thanks Bryce. I'm glad you picked up on that. Besides for the folding body and swinging legs (both of which are in every transforming ship I know of) the rest was all original. Thanks Bobby. I'm not really a big fan of transformers either, but I really was interested in the challenge. I dont think it would be to hard to make some design changes to the current model to get the mecha mode to look better. I'm not really sure (...) (...) absolutely gigantic! My camera can do 1600 but I take my pictures at 1024. I like to take pictures at one level above what I'll actually use. For all your pics, did you have to manually mask out the background with photoshop or is the white background allready a perfect white? I have tried, but my white backgrounds (...) Pat, Anything that transforms is by definition much more difficult than building either a mecha or a spaceship. I really like the spaceship. On the mecha I agree with your critique. (...) The beam sabers are from the large deluxe transforming Gundam toys. It's fits pretty nice into a Lego piece surprisingly enough. The escala was kind of a test model. I recently picked up a 2001 Racers set, and despite the overall sillyness of the set, it did occour to me that the little 2X2 monster driver would make a passable alien mech pilot, and take (...) Just wondering, what do you think are the best pilots for mechs. I just got a the LOM RPP and the alien is only 2 studs wide, making it comepletely unnesessary to make room for the arms, same with the battle droids(they can be used for other things (...) Too much doesn't always make the model look better, unless you're say Mark Sandlin or Paul Hanson, then you can use as much as you want and end up with a (...) Maybe this isn't news to anyone but me. but I discovered (after taking apart my Alpha team underwater mech) that the 2x2 with technic pin on bottom has little click tabs and fits into the arm socket boxes as a click turntable. WOW! This is awesome Mladen, Crap, the colours are so cool, they mix so well. Mmmmmmmm, big guns...;-) The inverted leg design just rules, and the red fins on the inside are sweet. I have just finished my first attempt at a transforming space fighter. I used the basic layout of a macross valkrye (sp?) but changed a few things.
