  BAAR

Well, a few weeks ago I had a sick day from school. I stayed home and, having nothing else to do, I went decided to build a Giant Gundam, my plan was to make it so large that I'd need to be inside to act as the frame. that never came to be, I don't (...)   Re: Part of a mech that's hardest to build

(...) Wow, that is one heck of an attack plan! But you probably have to have one like that because of the scale you build at. The biggest my mecha ever get is about eight to ten inches, maybe a foot at the very largest. My plan is usually something (...) (23 years ago, 27-May-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Part of a mech that's hardest to build

Well, let's see, Hmmm, it depends.... I ussually always start with the head. I like building the head of a new Mech, because at that point I know what "personallity" the Mech will have, then I start on the Hands. Once the Head and the hands are (...) Cool, thanks man, I would have purchased more Insectoid sets if they were evan remotely like this mech. Funny thing is I would't evan have any if my Mom did'nt give me one for X-mas. Thanks again.......Eric (...) (23 years ago, 27-May-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Thanks, I always wanted to use them in some set of hands one day, I only had 8 so no thumbs! ...But then again it looks like it only needs claws to get by! Thanks! P.S.   Re: Part of a mech that's hardest to build

Legs are not the hardest, just the most annoying part to build. How much fun could building a mech be if it wouldn't be for the legs! ;) Primus BuS ComStar LEGO Mechcommander: www.go.to/LegoMC (23 years ago, 27-May-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Part of a mech that's hardest to build

(...) From what I've noticed of mecha design, most mecha have short thighs and long lower legs, terminating in rather large feet. So put some basic armor plating on the thighs, and put heavier stuff on the lower legs. For feet, I'd suggest keeping (...) (23 years ago, 27-May-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Part of a mech that's hardest to build

(...) my head for what I think will be a good strong ankle, but I gotta get me some more o' them ball joint thingys first. As far as heads go, I think you're safe to err on the small side. If you give a mecha a disproportionately small head, it just (...) (23 years ago, 27-May-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Part of a mech that's hardest to build

(...) Typically, I spend almost as much time on the head as on the rest of the mech. But then there's the hip area. If I don't succeed with that, then the mech never comes to be. So the hips are pretty hard, sometimes. Then, on some mechs, the arms (...) (23 years ago, 27-May-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Part of a mech that's hardest to build

(...) Yeah, Mladen, I fully intend to have a complete Origami Mech section on my Brick'n'Brack site as soon as I can. I'm not really into minifig or larger scale, but I suppose I could include them as well. Any ideas? Matt (23 years ago, 27-May-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Part of a mech that's hardest to build

I completely agree with you Chris. For so long I've been pondering this question as well, and could not find an answer. Now I finally realize that for me it is the torse that is the hardest part of a mecha to build. Here are 3 reasons: 1) It is the (...) (23 years ago, 27-May-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Part of a mech that's hardest to build

Legs...most definately the legs. I can visualize and create the head just fine, and the arms are usually the most intricate part I make, so take the longest. The torso usually just follows along after the arms...but the legs! Oy! Usually, I'm really (...) (23 years ago, 27-May-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Part of a mech that's hardest to build
