(...) A very interesting trick, Danny. Here is my implementation of your no-backlash transmission: (URL) Of course there is a trade-off between backlash and friction, but your design allows easy trimming. Philo (19 years ago, 22-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.technic, FTX)

(...) Very nice ,Marco This reminds me of some of my earlier mecha. I used to use black technic friction pins for joints like crazy! I like the boxy look of it all.   Re: The Soren Building Challenge

As mentioned in the abysmally long thread, I am also in. 9 months is enough time for this build. I only wish the scale were a tad bit bigger (18 inches), but 12 inches at the shoulder will be a nice scale challenge. -Dave (19 years ago, 22-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  The Soren Building Challenge

Several builders have privately agreed to do Soren's build anyway just for fun. The "group" for lack of a better term would like to re-open it to .mecha.
