  Re: Widowmaker Mk. II

(...) Kyle, This is a great Mech! I really like the compactness of it. It just has a look of sturdiness and that translates to power. Good job. I really liked the rounded missile bins. I think that is quite inovative to use half a cylinder. It may (...) (20 years ago, 22-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Latest build after a long break!

(...) snip Wow! You've got some great surface textures there, with the variety of parts you used. Great color scheme, too, I like the use of the black for the feet. Very solid and imposing--looks big too. (20 years ago, 22-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Silver Squidy, Medieval Bot, and new Mr.Ham

(...) Medieval Bot looks like its thinking, "Where's the ball field? I want to play ball!" Either that or, "Chop heads, chop heads..." I love the Silver Squidy. Looks sort of like a fat Cylon. -Jeff (20 years ago, 22-Feb-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Soren's School Girl Mech

(...) OOH YEAH! I had a lot of fun learning from Soren's Skank bot when I reverse engineered it, but this one looks like something I might want to keep around to creep my mom out some more! You've captured the look perfectly, as always. It really (...) (20 years ago, 21-Feb-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Latest build after a long break!

Hello all, Its been quite a while since I've posted here and its been ages since I built anything. Its good to see some of the new builds out there, some truly awsome work! The latest project from D-Bloc, which is nearly completed, is "Gerraint". It (...) (20 years ago, 21-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX) !!

Re: Quarterback Passing Efficiency?? -- Hear me out!!

(...) After a night of pondering, I have found more parts that create movement. I have also thought (any suggestions) that we should have a separate speed and strength number. Some parts are faster than their weight or visa versa. Here is the new (...) (20 years ago, 21-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Quarterback Passing Efficiency?? -- Hear me out!!

(...) Okay, so maybe, I am a little interested in this project and Sundays are great relaxing days for me. So I wrote a perl script to calculate the ideal speed and strength variable for each mech type: Humanoid, Reverse Knee and Quad. Here are the (...)   Re: Widowmaker Mk. II

(...) Hah! Hey, I do squared off missile boxes too, ya know. But yeah, when you look at actual military hardware, there aren't any round parts unless there's a specific reason for them to be round, and there's no reason for a missile box to be (...)   Re: Widowmaker Mk. II

(...) Sweet, three woofs and jumping catfish! I acknowledge your critique about the proportions--the new feet added more visual weight, with really nothing added up top to balance it. But yeah, I'm starting to get into the studless/greebling style. (...) (20 years ago, 21-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Widowmaker Mk. II

(...) Thanks for the feedback, Marco, especially about the photography, which is always the hardest part for me. For Christmas, my brother got me a lamp with an Eiko Photoflood 250 watt bulb. Despite my poor understanding of camera settings and (...) (20 years ago, 21-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Quarterback Passing Efficiency?? -- Hear me out!!

(...) Okay, I am back with more information. Speed and Strength ===...=== IMO these two are really inverses of each other. A speedy mech is not strong becuase it lacks the ability to carry enough armor. Now on the other hand a strong mech, because (...) (20 years ago, 21-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Quarterback Passing Efficiency?? -- Hear me out!!

(...) So I am back with more information. As I have started to think this through I have determined, IMO, that what we are trying to do is score our Mech/Mecha against the figurative "Perfect" Mech in the areas of Articulation, Speed and Strength (...)   Re: Quarterback Passing Efficiency?? -- Hear me out!!

(...) I have some webspace that we can develop and test the initial software on. I can't really imagine the initial server load would be too heavy. Adding it to the LMHof is a great idea. (...) Great point and noted. I have started to develop a (...) (20 years ago, 21-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Stormwalker MkII

(...) Well that's exactly what I think of it. I'm so glad about the progress I made driven by the replies to the original post. Thanks again for your statement on the feet. I gave a big step forward.   Re: Quarterback Passing Efficiency?? -- Hear me out!!

<snip> (...) Hmmm, yeah. Should be easy enough. Seems to me we create a series of look up tables, populate them with wieghts and keep a data dictionary handy for modification if needed. Then another table where mecha creations can be entereed with (...) (20 years ago, 20-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Widowmaker Mk. II

(...) This is a wonderful improvement Kyle! I just love the new, cold, hard look of the Widowmaker now. It's almost like and Iron Reich mecha, but even more evil. :-) The rounded missile launcher boxes still bother me. I've mentioned this to you (...) Wow, that looks so much better Marco. The whole feel and balance is great. Big kudos on showing the dismantled pic. Almost noone thinks of it but a big issue if you ever want to transport your creation. Cool man. Mark (20 years ago, 20-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Widowmaker Mk. II

  Widowmaker Mk. II

Last May I posted a gray and black mech that had some cool points, but the color scheme was really fragmented, as you can see.   Re: Velociraptor

But now I'm gonna have my own. And I will post it! (URL) (...) (20 years ago, 19-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Stormwalker MkII

(...) Nice work, Marco, the big guns are sweeeeeet! A good match for the main body. Also, kudos on bringing the hips closer together. Only a couple studs, as you mentioned, but I often find even small improvements are worthwhile. (20 years ago, 19-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Insruction pics for Power Armor structure

Eric, as well as some reviewers on MOCpages, suggested I publish instructions for my power armor design, and I finally got around to it. The basic structure is pretty simple--if you were looking for a design you could mass produce for a diorama or (...) (20 years ago, 19-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Stormwalker MkII

(...) Hi Brian, yes the lift arms twist under the weight. No they don't cause wobbliness or undesired movement. You can see what happens on this picture (URL).   Quarterback Passing Efficiency?? -- Hear me out!!

Good Morning (it's 3:30 a.m. for me) Lugnet.Build.Mecha, As you know, or even if you don't, I am a newbie to Mecha but I would like to make a contribution to the "Mecha Sport" since I have loved reading about and working on Mecha.   Re: Stormwalker MkII

(...) Marco, Just so I get a better understanding, the Liftarm twists under the weight of the Mech causing "wobbliness" or undesired movement? However, the liftarm has not broken nor twisted to the point that it is forever ruined? Brian (20 years ago, 19-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Thanks to everybody who replied on (URL) Stormwalker>. It gave a strong motivation to me getting such constructive critics. They brought me to rethink the design which resulted in some modifications.
