Great to hear. Stormwalker is a great Mech!

They brought me to rethink the design which resulted in some modifications. The overall result I’d like to share.

So this is Stormwalker MKII

Stormwalker MkII

Awesome!

The Greatest benefit I took from Mark’s statement that the feet were to small and so the cause of many of my problems. I never had tried bigger feet but the original ones definetly were too small. The new ones are much better.

Stormwalker MkII - Foot

Thus I had more stability I could solve the second problem: too small weapons (although I thought they weren’t that small). You were right they were! I didn’t want to bulk up the body cause I really like the shape. But with the modified weapons it looks much heavier.

I like how you grew the feet. Wing plates work good on the feet, right?! They have a cool shape and match the body scheme well.

An idea I wanted to share.

I, and others have found, that by using a z40 in a Throw Bot Gear Box, has a manageble amount of backlash. Less so than the circumfrence bearing of a z24.

Like this:

Trick is to add the 2L axle and technic plates, then lock them to the Main Technic Beams with another crossmember axle. This puts the wieght on the gear, NOT the axle. Further making for a stiffer joint and more manageable backlash.

I figured I’d pass the tip along. Hope it helps.

I also managed to get the hips tighter by two studs not much but it helps.

Hey Two studs is two studs! Makes a difference sometimes! Good job.

Last but not least I added some pictures showing dismantling for transport. Looks a bit like at the butcher’s...

Stormwalker MkII - Body

Super cool exploded view. Nice!

Thanks again
Marco

P.S: I posted this a few days ago as Re: Stormwalker

Very cool mods and improvements. Stormwalker is better than ever, but just as cool as I first remember. Thank you!
