Last May I posted a gray and black mech that had some cool points, but the color scheme was really fragmented, as you can see.

Recently I was about to scrap it and sort it when I decided to see if I could improve the color scheme. I did everything I could in black, but there were some parts in the cockpit and missile launchers that I didn’t have in black, so I left them in gray, but grouped the colors together. I was also disappointed with the original foot design, so I re-did the feet and a few other details, and this is the final product.

I decided to post it because I think it shows what you can accomplish with better color grouping.

(...) Hello Kyle, this really shows an improvement. I liked the 1st virsion very much, but the 2nd looks even better. The new feet ar gorgeous. You also improved the covering of the technic click ball joints. Their color disturbs nearly every color (...) (19 years ago, 20-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Jumping catfish! Where to start. Studless. Big bitchin beefy legs, with greebling Integrated weapons that enhance the look pivoting cockpit Woof. Look, I don't have much for you save that the arms and body look just a touch (and only a touch) (...) (19 years ago, 20-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) This is a wonderful improvement Kyle! I just love the new, cold, hard look of the Widowmaker now. It's almost like and Iron Reich mecha, but even more evil. :-) The rounded missile launcher boxes still bother me. I've mentioned this to you (...) (...) Kyle, This is a great Mech! I really like the compactness of it. It just has a look of sturdiness and that translates to power. Good job. I really liked the rounded missile bins. I think that is quite inovative to use half a cylinder. It may (...) (19 years ago, 22-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Nice, Kyle. This is a huge improvement over an already excellent mech. I love the missle racks and the feet are just perfect. It looks like something you would actually see out on the battlefield, not some frilly anime mecha. Very clean, nothing (...) (19 years ago, 23-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
