Re: A way to get dirtside when driving a light mech

Ho ho! ok, I'm getting inspired. Note to self, add to list: #1. Date Soren's Mom. #2. Break up with Keith's Mom. #3. Work on Leg design for the SSClagorpion. #4. Build new Moonbases for Brick Fest. #5. Build Drop Ship ok, I'm set. This is very cool, (...) (20 years ago, 4-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: A way to get dirtside when driving a light mech

(...) Thanks for the response! I agree about the body-to-cockpit transition. When I build a dropship, I start with the cargo area, because the internal space requirement and my parts inventory are the only binding constraints. (Luckily, we Lego (...)   Re: New Builder, New Mecha!

Thanks everyone so far for the replies! My two downfalls are lack of new parts and lack of ball joints (and all of the bricks required to make them work, such as those 1x2's with the "+" holes...just WHERE do you find those?). The elbow joint sucks, (...) (20 years ago, 3-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: A way to get dirtside when driving a light mech

You have improved, and I mean it in a good way ;) I thought your first dropship was way cool, and I was really impressed by it, this ship is much more detailed than the previous one, and its shape is smoother, except for in front; the (...) (20 years ago, 3-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: New Builder, New Mecha!

Welcome to .mecha! Very nice. Cool shape, cool joints, cool SNOT. I'm not blown away, I'll admit, but I am going to bookmark this and study it in depth later. Might even make a printout for my Ideas folder. Looking forward to your next! Soren (20 years ago, 3-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Have a look, if you like, at my small dropship (click the pic for the gallery): (URL) It hauls three light mechs and fields two banks of naval missles, two long range missle racks, a pair of mass drivers, and two point-defense lasers.   Re: New Builder, New Mecha!

Hey, I spotted this on Brickshelf earlier. Nice mech! I like the shape, and very tricky joint work. It looks like it packs the details of a very large machine into a smaller package. Not that I build totally studless myself, but it looks like there (...) (20 years ago, 3-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: New Builder, New Mecha!

(...) wierd angles of bricks is downright awesome (I love the wedge plates on the chest!) It looks sleek, but not so sleek that it couldn't be a grungy weapon of war.   New Builder, New Mecha!

Re: more shots of the mechs from my dropship

(...) Thanks, Eric! And allow me to encourage you to build a dropship. I think you'll either have to build way smaller mechs than you're used to, or else you're going to need one massive dropship.
