I've been lurking .build.mecha for quite many months now, and all the great
creations I've seen here during that time have really inspired me, so much that
I recently sat down with my LEGO-collection for the first time since
http://news.lugnet.com/space/?n=27427.
What inspired me the most were are all the creative uses of parts. Seeing how
minifig arms were used as fingers really turned my world upside down - I was
amazed at the creativity and radical new use of a part with such a "set" use -
of course, no part has a set use, but I didn't think so back then.
This was going to just be a post with MOCs, but it turned into an almost
introductory post. Maybe you'll see more of me here, I don't doubt it, but my
building periods come and go.
So, here's my two MOCs:

This was my first attempt, and I think I got it quite good. The arms were of
limited posability, though, and I did not like the flat back of it...
..so I built a new one:

This one looks more like a mecha and less like a mech. It uses the same leg
design as the gray one, but the shoulder joints are improved (TECHNIC axle pins
with friction are your friend ;) ) and the arms are much more posable.
