Recently, the announcement of a new Battlestar Galactica movie has sparked an otherwise latent kernel of fandom in me, and apparently posting my microfig scale Battlestar earlier today wasn't enough to sate me. I came home from work and spent the (...) (25 years ago, 7-Apr-99, to lugnet.build)

(...) I agree, mostly, but I think Richard Hatch(1) has a certain amount of justification for being peeved - he's worked for *years* on a revival effort, producing books, building a promotional tape, inducing various toy/model companies to rerelease (...) Galactica was the greatest TV serial that I remembered very well from my childhood...:-) Take a look at LeoCAD model gallery at (URL) for a larger scale (roughly technfig) Colonial Viper. Sorry about the main color but I don't have enough gray (...) (25 years ago, 8-Apr-99, to lugnet.build)

(...) I think hiring Hatch to reprise his role can only help. But we must know one thing: despite how much he's done to revive BG and even though he's part of the original cast, Hatch is merely a spokesperson type for Universal Pictures, which (...) If you ever want to see an amusing account of studios battling it out in court, the lawsuit that was leveled against BG by SW (or rather, Universal by 20 Century Fox) is a good one - there was about 4 rounds of countersuing, which reads very (...) (...) Dune the movie came out in 1984, though it can be argued that it has little resemblance to the book. OTOH, the book was written long before 1984.
