For some reason I was stuck on using the 1x2 brick with tilt top! Thanks for the hint, but I find that placing the panels a plate lower brings them in line with the headlights rather than above them and have found the effect congenial while not (...) I wonder, Bill, if you are thinking of the civilian CJ series. This MOC is of the military Jeep, where I do believe the flat hood is prototypical. The Pelican 3 is a heavily modified SeaPlane built to have all the comforts of home while you travel the world. The discovery wings channels had a special about flying boats all last week and i just had to build one. Thankye! I had originally set out make this a large artillery piece with the platform encasing a large weapon of some sort with a slight offset to the other side. You got it.... a bulldog was invovled in the inspiration! The troop platform of the Normandy landers does have an influence here as well. Gil, One of the few Star Wars MOCs that 100% truly looks like it belongs in Star Wars. Blue panels are far superior in appearance, but be sure to not use blue bricks for your walls. Here's an example of blue panels in a skyscraper I did a while back. While breaking down some sets from a recent clearance run, I came across an interesting new part... 42607. It looks like a wing 12 x 6 with notched corners, but it has the distinction of having a technic brick (2 x 4) molded into the inboard end. (...) Yeah I like the studless look, but it does get annoying sometimes, espeicially since using tiles makes your mecha all the more chunkier, whether you want it or not. too bad tiles are so expensive at bricklink. very nice form, (...) Thanks Eric! (...) yeah the head is not at all similar to the old head, but I couldn't make the head the same way, without making the torso similar to the old visage, which I didn't want to do. G-Miest! I'm always in awe of how you make those Frame's and then layer the Armour all around! I enjoy seeing how you make Mecha. You have really got the removeable Armour technique down. I thought of Brits verses East Indians as soon as I saw the new Orient line. I was also thinking of the 3 new sets due out later this year for Chinese verses the Ninja.
